I'm tempted to agree with my hockey nut friend and say Upshall should get a look at replacing Knuble on first line due to his speed and Knuble's lack thereof. That may be due to the fact I love Upshall... I like Upshall a lot too (what a sick return for forsberg... upshall, a future 2nd pairing stay-at-home defenseman in parent, and a first round pick), but Knuble is a good fit on the first line. He's probably a better natural scorer than Upshall, and while Briere and Gagne are more finesse players who will be on the perimeter, Knuble will be down low, setting screens and gobbling up rebounds. Upshall should do well on the 2nd line. Carter is coming into his own, and Hartnell should be a good player too - though he hasn't done much so far. I think my favorite player on the team is Mike Richards. He's leading the forwards in ice time, because he plays the point on the first power play unit and is also a top penalty killer. Good skater, plays smart, will drop the gloves with anybody to stick up for a teammate - even though it usually results in him getting beat up, because he's not a big guy. They've already made him an assistant captain, and he'll be the team captain at some point in the future. Provided the Flyers have room under the cap, I can see him being a less talented version of Bobby Clarke - a heart and soul guy who plays his whole career with the team. I also like Kukkonen a lot. He doesn't seem to do any one thing really well (except maybe block shots) but he's so solid defensively and hardly ever out of position. When the Flyers were clueless on D last year, he was the type of guy they were missing. I guess Jason Williams has been pretty good for the Blackhawks, but I'm surprised they let Kukkonen get away. That Forsberg trade was freaking ridiculous, I'm still not sure how that happened. I have no real problems with Knuble, just blatant homerism for Upshall.
