  1. It would be in the Cubs best interests for Theo to try and prevent the Cardinals from feeling like they've gained leverage with the Marlins dropping out.
  2. Yankees? Are you drunk? The Angels are probably one of those two teams, I'd imagine. Wouldn't be surprised if the Nationals were getting desperate and trying to make a big move after getting cut off by the Marlins.
  3. Marlins offering 6 years. Those guys are out of control.
  4. I feel like the Marlins would probably price us out of the Fielder race.
  5. I would be pretty sad with 10 years period
  6. Wouldn't baseball have to sign off on that if it were the Dodgers? Or is that bit over?
  7. EDIT: The Nationals maybe? I'd guess Texas if I had to. Yea that would be my second guess. I say the Nationals because they've been oddly quiet so far despite being hyped as big spenders heading in. Really hope this isn't Hoystein. NO on 10 years, even if it is Pujols. I can't imagine it's the Cubs, for reasons I've stated. Me either. Still, they're so damn quiet about everything, one never knows. It could be them doing this just to [expletive] with people.
  8. Gonna be awesome when Heyman tweets this in half an hour.

  10. I may soon be eating my words. I hope I'm not: EDIT: The Nationals maybe?
  11. Yeah, if I hear something like: "Cubs jump in and trump all offers, steal Pujols at last minute", I will go nuts. However, it looks like Fielder is the target now. Considering what's probably currently on the table, I'd be depressed. There's no way Theo's darkhorsing this thing. The Marlins are probably at 220-240 million over 10 years.
  12. From what Ive been seeing on twitter, it seems like the most likely scenario Same here. Haha I love when Heyman tweets something ten minutes after everyone.
  13. How long do the Fielder sweepstakes go on for after the Pujols issue is resolved?
  14. At this point I'd kinda be surprised if the Marlins don't get him.
  15. If the Marlins do sign him, the numbers on that deal could be HILARIOUS
  16. Indeed. However, the Marlins do seem just crazy enough to try and outbid them again.
