  1. Wow, you are really exaggerating. Aramis, with his various lower body ailments, manages to run after he hits the ball. I'm sure Sori will be fine. It's also unappealing to read you calling people out constantly. Your posts usually smack of arrogance; "my point of view is backed up by X, Y, and Z from MLB so they must be right and everyone else is wrong." Now you want nice-nice. Whatever. Oh yeah, you can have your opinion but that doesn't mean it is right. Opinions are only as good as the facts behind them.
  2. Stop wagging your finger. It's unfair to say that he will have lingering leg issues when the season starts. The Cubs told him to only work out 75% during the offseason. However, he has all of Spring Training to get himself ready to be fit for the season. Besides, there's no rule that says he has to steal bases. Get over it.
  3. Bruce Levine also mentioned Willitis, as a target, on his Talking Baseball show Saturday morning.
  4. It's definitely up for interpretation because i didn't come to that conclusion.
  5. I thought Hendry didn't want Crisp. I don't know one way or the other. The way he said it, it seemed like the Crisp part was a throw in comment; maybe his own guess or maybe he's right. He sounded more definitive about the teams involved.
  6. Bruce Levine is on ESPN 1000 now saying the Red Sox and Angels are both after Marquis. He went on to say that the Cubs would as for Crisp from Boston...
  7. I do. If you didn't watch or listen you're in the minority. It's news. I doubt that, considering most are at work. People are on here during the middle of the workday too. The hearing was on TV, radio, and streamed over the internet. It was available to anyone who wanted to consume it in totality or segments.

  9. and he may or may not have had an abscess on his ass at some time in his career After reading some of the behind the scenes correspondence of the Red Sox front office in the Mitchell Report, it wouldn't surprise me if the Blue Jays' team doctor is full of crap on his recollection of that abscess. The teams are complicate in the coverup. Also, I believe Andy Pettitte; he has no reason to lie on Clemens.
  10. Is anyone else having a deja vu moment? I could have sworn that the Miles excerpt was from an article written weeks ago in response to something Phil Rogers posted at the Tribune...
  11. I'm not sure which will happen first...the Bedard trade becoming official, or me figuring out if all of your winking means something. I'm still trying to figure out what he means with the quotes around Bedard's name. Hmmmm, maybe Gallagher was told that he would be moved once the Bedard trade was finalized. Peoriachiefs39 has facetiously asked if the trade was complete on more than one occasion and or wished out loud that something happened to prevent it's completion (i.e. Bedard failing his physical). Just a thought. Also, I haven't been keeping up with WL ball. Is Venezuela still playing or am I reading too much into this piece on Cubs.com Why isn't Ronny playing?

I'm still trying to figure out what he means with the quotes around Bedard's name. Your guess is as good as mine. All this makes me think things have progressed to the point of putting players on notice. We'll find out soon enough...
  13. I think it gets done soon. The best part of this thread is that people are still posting what the "insiders" have to say about the trade when ALL evidence points to the fact that the insiders have as much inside knowledge of the O's as Ronny Woo Woo has of the Cubs. FWIW, Peace said yesterday at 3:30pm that Bedard would be traveling to Seattle today. Blind Squirrel meet acorn. How many times has Peace, BigBird, or any other of those people made predictions? It's like the astrologer that gets 1 prediction correct and people go ga-ga. Some of the problems with this particular trade have been denials and stalling by the Os (they even tried to lie when Jones was heading to Baltimore). I don't know the overall percentage of accuracy with these guys but Peace has said all along that one of his sources is within Bedard's agent's office. I know for myself that the O's have been holding up these deals. The person I know, who told me about the Roberts trade, looked bad when it didn't go down that day (and so did I) but that doesn't mean that the info was wrong it just got changed. Besides, he said originally that it was not the names that were reported.

  15. IIRC, Hendry mentioned, on CTL, that he wanted another utility player. Perhaps, that player will be the backup. who might he be talking about? At the time, I thought he was talking about Marlon Byrd because I don't think he specified in/outfield. Maybe it was someone else? Hmmm, now that I think about it further, I remember saying to myself 'what about Ronny?' Whatever, well find out soon enough with ST starting next week. He also went on to say whomever, between Pie and Fuld, didn't win the CF job would be sent back to AAA because there wouldn't be room for both.

  17. That happened yesterday between Peace21 and BigBird. With everything that has gone on with this trade and the fact that it has taken this long anybody wanna bet that something "pops up" with a players physical and the trade is called off....... ;) This offseason has been ridiculously strange; it wouldn't surprise me at all.
  18. That happened yesterday between Peace21 and BigBird.
  19. And that's when you know it's time to walk away... The Cubs won't walk away cause they need to "WIN" now and it seems that this has to be the year!!! The only way I see the "O's" even considering taking Marquis is if the Cubs are willing to pay most of his Salary. Why would the "O's" who are in the midst of trimming salary and taking players who will be in their control for the next 2/3 yrs take Marquis and pay his salary. Its going to be interesting to see how this all plays out in the next couple of weeks as the Bedard deal should be announced either today or tomm. I would say that if Roberts were to be dealt it would be quick but with the way the Bedard deal dragged out who knows ;) All this winking makes me think you know more than you're saying. That's fine, we understand...
