  1. Yes, Gameday Audio is included with all of the mlb.TV packages. This game is on the Oakland feed; I'm listening to the pregame now.
  2. Side note: I think Harry Carry at OH is Wrigley23 here. They were having the same issues with him over there with grammar and failure to use the quote button.
  3. Coolness. Thanks a lot and welcome to the board.
  4. Does anyone have a link to Gameday? It usually isn't available during Spring but someone was able to conjure one up last year...
  5. The only thing that DLee said, that could be remotely taken as critical, specifically, of Fuk's signing was the comment about the Cubs obsession with left handed hitting. Anyway, he's friends with Hunter so his judgment in wanting him on the team is clouded. Torri is full of it any way because I heard him interviewed on The Score last year saying he didn't want to play for the Cubs because of the brick walls at Wrigley Field (he did go on to say that it was his childhood team).
  6. I believe Petrick may be still hurt. I read some quotes by Lou saying that Billy's velocity was down and they were having him come along slowly.
  7. This isn't new. Teams were needlessly making jokes last year. The Mariners aren't exactly an annual contender.
  8. Mesa cemetery: where many Cubs are who saw the last WS win... These guys are winners.
  9. Wow, these announcers are jagbags. What's with all the "...last time the Cubs won the WS" talk? Now Bartman? Give me a break.
  10. No RBI on a doubleplay but the run did score.
  11. Hendry said, about 3-4 weeks ago in a radio interview, that only one of them would make the team. Fuld doesn't really have a lot of value. I believe the Cubs have used him to try to light a fire under Pie. I fully expect Fuld to start the season at AAA. Sending Pie down at this point makes no sense.
  12. His person is also saying that he has received no indication that the deal is close, and bb actually went on to say that it was his opinion that Roberts wouldn't be traded. Plus, today is the Orioles longest road trip, so most of the regulars didn't make the trip. Yes but the other regulars have been playing consistently and Roberts has not. Also, it was his personal opinion that nothing gets done but that's inconsistent with what his "guy" is pointing to; while nothing is about to happen today, the surrendering of medical records and, what appears to be, an effort to prevent Roberts from being injured points to a desire to move him. Plus, I think Roch's blog also mentioned that Payton would be in the batting cages instead of in the lineup as well.
  13. For anyone who is interested, BigBird (I know, I know) is saying, that his guy told him, that the O's have sent the Cubs medical reports for both Roberts and Payton. Couple that with Roberts (who isn't injured) being held out of consecutive Spring games and something could be brewing...
  14. because the Dusty-run clubhouse was a complete clown show. Steve Stone compliments Roy Oswalt and a fine pitching performance and then he has Alou/Mercker calling the booth to complain? what sane manager would allow that to happen? i don't blame him one bit for quitting....the whole situation was a joke The bottom line is he left on his own and he has lived to regret the decision. Last year he was dropping hints about wanting to return to the Cubs (with McDonough in toe) while also trying to be diplomatic about Len & Bob. He wanted a full-time baseball job. ESPN did not retain him and he failed to get the full-time gig from the Nationals... Stone was maintaining his local voice on The Score in hopes that the Cubs job would become available with a change of ownership. The Sox job just landed in his lap (mostly because they need something to boost their abysmal radio ratings from last season).
  15. I'd have trashed the Cubs too if they fired me just to appease some of their crybaby players. Stoney was the man. I never understood the sudden hate on him. You haven't heard a baseball game called unless you heard one by Harry and Steve. Those were good times. The Cubs did not fire Steve Stone; he refused to re-sign with the team.
  16. According to the guy on OH This isn't true BTW. I was listening to the show this morning and Levine said, something to the effect, Angelos appears to have approved the trade of Roberts because the trade talks were heating up again (with the scouts in attendance).
  17. Anyone else hear that report by Levine? Yes, I heard it as well. BTW, I believe that all of Levine's "baseball beat" reports are on ESPNAM1000.com Do you know where? I can only find a Levine interview with Kerry Wood. The Woody interview was played this morning on Levine's "Talking Baseball" show. I can't check right now, because I'm on my phone and unable to open multiple windows, but yesterday, there was a link to all of his beat reports and interviews on the front page of ESPNam1000.com

  19. Not many people know this, but Affirmative Action has led to the first mentally [expletive] person being employed as a Major League manager. You all know him as Dusty, I think. :| WTH is this?
  20. Hmmmm, this probably ends the Marquis to Boston speculation.
