  1. No timetable has been determined on which team he's signing with, correct? And yes - I've read as much as I could and haven't seen anything along this specific bit. Thanks.
  2. Put son to bed? Check. Salt driveway and sidewalk? Check. Feed the dog? Check. Fix tomorrow's lunch? Check. Set alarm clock? Check. Come on Fuku. Must get serious work done tomorrow.
  3. We've asked people not to do this anymore. ever, or just in this thread? Ever. What exactly are we talking about here? Rickrolling?! Please explain.
  4. "Fukudome to decide tonight whether to come to MLB" My Monday just sucked even more.
  5. It's a forgone conclusion Roberts or DeRosa could play SS, correct? Thanks for the info.
  6. Never thought I'd read "EL" and "enjoyable" in the same sentence. :-"
  7. To Chicagoans, great rationale and well put. To mild climate localities, political-like propaganda. Are the 1.5 - 2 months just April/May and late September/October? Because a case could be made, especially by Whale's Vaginaians, that July and August can be miserable as well. Late May through early July, and late August to early September may be the only good weather times in Chicago, especially for baseball. I don't consider anything between mid-May (early June at the latest) and mid-to-late September to be remotely near miserable. Of course, that's just personal preference. November through March in Chicago could cease to exist and I'd never, ever miss it. I'd go as far as including all May through late September as really game on (August is the wettest month, however). April and October are very manageable. This said, November through March is against everything that's good and holy.

  9. Must have been discussed ad nauseum but I missed it. Does anybody have Fuku's projections based on his Japan league numbers?
  10. Thank you. I'm not worried. Jimbo believes this season hinges on this signing - plus allows for more flexibility on his other favorite moves (just my feeling on what goes inside the head of Jimbo). If it comes down to $$, he'll reel him in.
  11. Pardon my confusion. Is the 'as early as today' announcement on whether he'll come to play MLB ball or actually choosing/accepting an offer from the team he'll play for in 2008? Much appreciated.
  12. Completely off topic, How's the weather down there in FLL in mid-January? I'm coming down for a week and would die for some fun in any sun. Thanks and carry on back with the thread.
  13. FYI, Will Carroll saying on his 4:15 update all but a done deal with Boston.
  14. Can anyone provide a quick write-up about Teahen? I'm not familiar with this name.
  15. Oh Canada...always trying to sell the nationalistic concept for their sorry baseball fans and sucking at it. If I had a dollar for the predictability in Godfrey's moves I'd be in Jamaica sipping pina coladas. I'm going out on a limb and say they'll pursue Rich Harden and Erik Bedard soon after they become garbage. They still have Matt Stairs to run him into the ground anyway. Back to the point, they can have Ryan Dempster for a bottle of Rye Whiskey for all I care.
  16. Trade Marshall for Hamilton Platoon Hamilton/Murton in RF. Hamilton was .319/.391/.637/1.028, 18 HR 43 RBI in 256 PA's vs. righties last year. Murton was .319/.386/.505/.892, 3 HR 9 RBI in 101 PA's vs. lefties. Sign Fukudome for CF Trade Pie for SP or SS help Boom. tough actin' tinactin! well done.
  17. Not this time around. I wonder why (someone, take it away).
  18. He could play left, but of course moving Soriano to right field hasn't crossed Jimbo's mind. Not that I'm saying Blalock is the answer at the 'open' OF spot.
  19. I don't care what happens to Murton anymore. I'm inclined to think my greatest satisfaction would be in the form of someone in the media ripping Jimbo a new one on national TV as the defective, backwards thinking GM that he is. Even a blind squirrel finds his nuts, but this guy. He just won't ever get it! HAD to get this off my chest.
