  1. So deserving, however, good to see him come back and fight like a man and get out of the jam.
  2. Hendry would never admit to his blunders. Hence why Izturis is still playing.
  3. Mr. Miles, do we have a lineup yet? I'm setting myself up for dissapointment. I'll go postal if I don't see Riot at SS tonight.
  4. Flip flop Barrett and Jones and you've got a lineup that will compete. Sooner or later.
  5. Izturis and Cedeno are having a very difficult time hitting above their weight. And they're not anything defensively to write home about. It's a win-win. Install Theriot and DeRosa as full-time starters now.
  6. Why in the name of everything that is holy and good can't Lou try Theriot at SS and just tie Izturis up to a corner in the clubhouse never to be seen again? Maybe he doesn't have the arm and his defense won't be spectacular, but his footwork and reaction at 2B looks very good and he chases everything down. He also played SS earlier in his career, didn't he? It's not like his bat will suffer. His speed and Freel-esque approach to the game cannot be hurt. Someone please show me how wrong I am, else I'll have a coronary when Izturis shows up in the lineup again.
  7. he being who? My bad. I am referring to Felix Pie. Thank you.
  8. How many pitches did he take? What did the count look like? Thank you.
  9. Some rumors circulating that Felix Pie has been called up and in the lineup for today's game. Can anyone confirm or deny? Also, when does Mr. Bruce Miles usually post the lineup prior the start of a matinee game? Thank you and Go Cubs!
  10. Considering Lou would break camp with 12 pitchers and taking into account no candidates for surprises (like Sean Marshall last year), no injuries and players playing up to potential, the battle for the last pitching spot could come down to Wade Miller and Neal Cotts (and maybe Michael Wuertz if Cotts can be accounted as middle reliever). Thoughts? As for position players, there's a post down somewhere making reference to the outfield being set with Murton/Floyd, Soriano and Jones, with DeRosa and even Theriot filling in when needed, so a fifth outfielder like Pagan and certainly not Pie makes no sense. This said, who'd be the last man in? It's got to be Cedeno's to lose.
  11. Hello everyone. First time poster, long time lurker. I'd like to find out what sources out there provide the most Cubs coverage from the get go. I subscribed to XM looking to listen to the games while in the office, but other than sporadic Cub talk on MLB Home Plate, not much going on - maybe understandably so since camp hasn't really started yet. Any other preferred radio/satellite radio sources out there to get the most out of Cub baseball? Keep up the good work. The level of baseball insight, mature and professional discourse on this forum is unparalleled. Much appreciated.
