  1. Coming into the postseason, I believed the key to a successful series was the offense. Color me perplexed our best pitcher laid this turd. The offense didn't help either. I say I'm in full doomsday mode. And I'm usually amongst the last to join.
  2. Wrigley Field is not the issue. The issue is the absence of a [expletive]. Those walks and the inevitable dagger took the air out of everything.
  3. What's the record of trailing at end of 8th by 2+ runs?
  4. Somewhat reminiscent of last year's offense during playoffs at Chase Field. Utterly frustrating.
  5. Is LF at Chase Field about 532 ft or something?
  6. Rich Hill, Felix Pie, Jose Ceda, Eric Patterson and Jason Marquis. Deal or no deal?
  7. For what it's worth, Paul Sullivan writes on Extra Innings: The rumored trade of Felix Pie to San Diego for Khalil Greene has not been discussed, Cubs sources said. Greene's pathetic stats to date notwithstanding, I'd do it in a heartbeat - plus shuffling the deck a bit by moving Fuku to CF, Soriano to RF and Murton/Johnson in LF. LF Murton/Johnson CF Fukudome 1B Lee 3B Ramirez RF Soriano C Soto 2B DeRosa SS Greene Have at it.
  8. Cash is burning my pocket. Willing to buy pronto. Reply or PM me.
  9. I know Dimaggio is one. Wife would sing the tune out loud whenever it came on, much to my chagrin and calling her out on it.
  10. Disclaimer: I understand there's other fish to fry when it comes to hitting prowess or lack thereof, but I aim my frustration at the two players for reasons herein explained. Is the role of the hitting coach to provide assessment and suggestions, while creating opportunities for more repetitions? Or they can extend as far as to demand adjustments if needed? Anything else? I've taped most of this season's games and watched them twice uninterrupted. I cannot for the life of me comprehend Alfonso Soriano and Aramis Ramirez's approaches at hitting (I guess I'm just frustrated to see such productive hitters waste opportunities when seemingly minor adjustments can turn them into Alex Rodriguez and Manny Ramirez, so to speak, respectively). Soriano's plate IQ (a steady off-plate diet with get him out, every-time-out) and Ramirez hitting 'mechanics' (must murder the pitch, every-time-out) are every smart pitcher's dream to get these two hitters. I have no recollection of what went wrong with them in the playoffs last season but I seem to recall they struggled mightly (Soriano is quickly building a reputation as 'unclutch') - though the same can be said for others who tanked at the plate against the D-Backs. Point is, I have yet to see any adjustments whatsoever. I understand Soriano and Ramirez will still kill the ball to the extent enough pitching mistakes will give them the numbers they produce each and every season, but I just don't see this translating into a playoff where top competition and pitching awaits them. Do old dogs learn new tricks? Am I seeing ghosts where there are none? On the flip side, can you provide proof of any player on this team that has benefited/produced above career norms from Mr. Perry's coaching? Discuss.
  11. Not that there's anything wrong with being 38, right? Right?
  12. My memory might be aging, but 100% without a doubt the Comedy channel has about five minutes of commercials in between mediocre stand-up. Only way to get a true kick was recording it and skipping through commercials afterwards - which killed whatever true value my Inno had.
  13. Aside undifferentiated music content, I hated the Commercials and Portability (or lack thereof). I found more use of the service by recording as opposed to listening live due to the insane number of debt free and male enhancements commercials. But what broke the camel's back was how weak the reception was when my Pioneer Inno was undocked - even while walking outside on the clearest day. P.S. In terms of music content, Internet Radio on a PSP (heck, I'll go out on a limb and say even Pandora and IMEEM) is not that far off XM Music (Rock and Metal) - and gratis.
  14. Thankfully my issues only start and end while I'm at the office. Nevertheless, I find it painful to get live action while at work. Firstly, AM radio signal does not get through in the Loop. While I did try XM Radio all of last year, I found it worthless outside the MLB channels. As for video feed, I've tried unsuccessfully to get any life from my DVR through a Location Free and PSP via WiFi and I'm too freaked out to unfork big bucks on a Slingbox only to find out it doesn't work (same goes for MLB.TV). Anything else left out there to try?
  15. "Did you eat paint chips when you were a kid?" Honestly, Dusty just amazes me. I truly think he is one of the laziest managers in history, work wise and thinking wise. You misspelled dumbest.
  16. "The race tightened once center fielder Corey Patterson was signed to a Minor League contract and invited to camp at the urging of Baker..." "When they signed Patterson, I knew the writing was on the wall," Bruce said. "I have a plan," Baker said. "Everybody wants to know the plan. Everybody is guessing the plan. We'll just let the plan work itself out." I'll tell you what the plan was Dusto. Your master plan was to get Josh Hamilton away from the picture so you could bring in your own .250 OBP lead-off man to camp. Jay Bruce doesn't know it, but that's the best thing that happened to his career. Link below. 17. Have been procrastinating on this offering and finally saw how front loaded it is - basically it's all April and May. Anyone doing this? All in all, price is alright, isn't it? Thoughts?
  18. Can you or anyone else elaborate? Can't seem to remember any issues in the 200s. Also, can anyone provide the link to the site to view Wrigley seats? Thank you.
  19. Are these Felix Pie's?
  20. There's a video of him in the last Kfuk thread in the last couple pages that shows him throwing out a runner at 1b from RF. He has an absolute cannon. I heard his cannon arm is so devastating he could throw a strike to home plate and the catcher still get the guy out at first on a similar sequence.
