  1. My team [expletive] the bed yesterday, and not a single player met their projected point total. Meanwhile, the guy I'm playing (who recently acquired Brandon Marshall for virtually nothing) had 9/10 players exceed expectations. Vincent Jackson gave him 0, but Moreno, AP, J.Gordon, Denver, Gronk, Gostkowski, Marshall, and Alex Smith gave him 156.6pts. I need either Kaepernick or RG3 to give me 113.4pts tonight. Who should I go with? :banghead:
  2. Can someone give me a quick update about what happened? I'm away from a tv, and have spotty internet.
  3. I think his dad was the bigger asshat, but he's no peach either.
  4. I read that the Cardinals are close to signing him. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2013/11/cardinals-peralta-close-to-deal.html
  5. That's my thought. Get what you can for Deng/Noah/Heinrich, amnesty(?) Boozer. Hope for a good lotto pick? What does that Charlotte pick do for them?
  6. since it's official and not a rumor: Stl sends 3B David Freese and RP Fernando Salas to LAA for OFs Peter Bourjos, Randal Grichuk.
  7. Angels also get Salas. Grichuck headed to STL.
  8. Not sure if this is considered a transaction, but Chris Carpenter announced his retirement.
  9. That's horrible. The only defense the guy acquiring Boldin could have is that Marshall doesn't have his QB (for now), but as we saw Monday it hasn't affected his production yet. So yeah, that sounds pretty shady. I complained to the commissioner, and he basically said he wasn't going to do anything about it. I went on a rant on the forums for the league, and was ignored. I've since had 2 fair trades vetoed. I've got EVERYBODY on my roster on the bench this week. I'm done with this crap. I'll start unloading players shortly.
  10. One of the coolest sports moments of our lives. Agreed. Those gold shoes were awesome. If I recall correctly, he was kinda late getting out of the blocks, but had made up most of the stagger from lane 3 by about 3/4 of the way around the turn. I was a 400/800 runner in HS, so I was more partial to his 400m race. He made up the stagger by about 200m in... let up quite a bit towards the end and still won by a second. I was at about 110m and had a great view of them coming out of the turn. He pretty much was even or just a little ahead of the rest of the runners and he looked like he got shot out of a cannon coming out of the turn. The burst he put on from 80-120m was just unreal. That and the wave of flash bulbs as they went around the turn are my two most vivid memories of that 19 seconds of my life. 100% jealous of you right now. Even going back and watching it on youtube gives me shivers.

  12. Just need to get Briggs, Ratliff, Conte and Wright back from their injuries. Wait Conte and Wright aren't injured? Haha... I read that and saw "Conte and Wright" and immediately though, "Well, that explains a lot! Didn't realize they were playing hurt." Then I finished the sentence and chortled a bit.
  13. The guy in 1st place in my league just (somehow) traded Anquan Boldin for Brandon Marshall. Straight up. The guy he traded with hasn't touched his roster since the draft, and is in dead last, and is his best friend... So it got OK'd from the get-go, but I can't believe the rest of the league OK'd it.
  14. Yup. :banghead:
  15. Pick 3 WR: Boykin vs Chi Jeffery @ GB Andre Johnson vs Ind McCluster @ Buf (Bye week with Megatron, just lost Blackmon to suspension, Harvin still out.)
  16. I think it makes Merriweather sound like a douche. Marshall has since been diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder and has sought help for that. In my opinion, that plays a huge part in his past behavior.
  17. I can only assume Pete Carroll was playing against someone who had Lynch. I was up by 2 going into last night. I had Lynch and Seattle D against Zac Stacey and Greg Zeurlein. I lost by 6pts. [expletive] you, Pete Carroll.
  18. Well, Rg3 was the wrong choice. Doh. Thankfully, Megatron was himself.
  19. Kaepernick vs Jax RGIII vs Denver who should I start? I'm leaning towards RG3 because of potential shootout.
  20. I'm hearing there's a big fire in wrigleyville. Is Rickets taking matters into his own hands?
  21. It was more of just a reference to Clark still being one of the border streets. Obviously, the field wouldn't be positioned that way, with the great view into the rail yard. Also, even poorly placed, you can see how much room for activities the Cubs would have.
  22. Care to give me a google map link of the location? I'm not too familiar with the area. Sure thing: Link It really is too bad it will never happen, because it's absolutely perfect. Walking distance from 3 El lines, a few blocks from LSD and 90/94, a long walk or short shuttle/bus from Union Station/Ogilvie, plenty of space for all the other revenue generating crap they want, and they could orient the view from the stadium with the skyline/Sears Tower. Wow... that would be amazing! There would be plenty of space to build their own "Wrigleyville" too. I put wrigley on the "new land" and adjusted it so Clark St. aligned, just to get an idea of how much space there would be to work with... http://i.imgur.com/zSyfcPO.jpg
  23. A friend of mine on facebook is going off about how the Red Sox are cheating, just like Kenny Rogers tried to do. I commented and said that most every MLB pitcher uses something to aid their grip, even wainwright admits to using the rosin/sunscreen mix. He said that the Cardinals are too good to have to resort to cheating, and that me, being a cubs fan, would be ok with Boston using corked bats. I brought up Steve Kline, Julian Tavarez, etc... he just replied "We're not here to bring up the past." Only when it's convenient for his argument, I guess?

  25. Great. Now Cardinal fans are going to complain that the Red Sox cheated and that's the only reason they lost. nm... already being discussed here: viewtopic.php?p=3001176#p3001176
