    His road ERA is still better than Dempster, Z, and Lilly.

    He certainly deserves it. I wouldn't pitch him at home in the playoffs under any circumstances.. But his road splits are very very good.... Only Rich Harden has a lower ERA on the road than Marquis' 3.05 following this performance. Dempster is next at 3.22, Z has a 3.77 on the road, and Lilly is in the 3.80s.

    yes he hates ny mets with the heat of a million suns. Pretty sure he was skipping this one no matter what, that the regular season is effectively over probably locked it for him. He had said that if the Cubs hadn't clinched this weekend he was going to go to New York with the team, but since they've clinched, he said there was no reason to go.... He will make the trip should the Cubs and Mets meet in the Playoffs though.

    I think these 4 games mean plenty... the fact that we're facing pitchers that we could very well see in the first round of the playoffs, you'd love to have as much success against them as possible.

    Marquis on the road: 6-3, 3.05 ERA, 1.32 WHIP, .230 BAA Marquis at Wrigley: 4-5, 5.56 ERA, 1.47 WHIP, .290 BAA I'm not sold on this one.
