  1. I'd rather keep Cedeno than acquire Aybar, as I don't see a lot of difference between the two. Blanton would be nice, but I don't think our OBP-depleted lineup can afford to lose Murton. If minor league numbers mean anything, Aybar will be the superior offensive player. Cedeno: .265/.316/.376/.692 (1924 AB) Aybar: .311/.356/.454/.810 (2216 AB)
  2. +1 for Aybar. The rotation doesn't need a trade to fix it. Gooz for 5th starter. The only other pitcher in our rotation that isn't carrying his weight is Zambrano. Our bullpen will be fine.
  3. Pie: 6'2" 170 lbs. Soriano: 6'1" 180 lbs. We're going to gave great speed and arms in two of our OF positions for a long time to come. Did you see Pie rounding second on that liner into the gap. A bobble or a weird bounce off the wall and he was on third. That guy can fly.
  4. How many starts has he missed?
  5. Not the losses-just this loss. The offense Sunday and the offense yesterday were two completely different things. Between the 6th and the 9th, the Cubs offense hit 5 hard hit low line drives-1 directly at the first baseman, 2 directly at the shortstop, and 2 hit directly at the 3rd baseman. In extra innings, the Cubs hit 4 balls that would have been home runs on any average day-none of them left the park. Could they have won the game even with all that bad luck? Yes-but yesterday, the Cubs were pretty unlucky-while Sunday had a ball or two that were unlucky, but most of it was simply a horrible offensive performance. All I have to say to that is the game was played in Wrigley. You have to be able to take advantage of your home park. If that means playing small ball (yikes!) to get some runs while the wind is howling in instead of swinging for the fences (like we did), you do it.
  6. Jones and Ohman are both solid players if they are used correctly. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out their splits. We have Rapada in the system, do we not? Ohman is expendable. Jones is definitely expendable with Pie/Soriano/Floyd/Murton in the mix. Just make sure Wilken gets a couple looks at these prospects.
  7. That's your silver lining TT? Don't ever take a job at a crisis hotline. :D
  8. Lou is going to kill someone. I'm absolutely convinced of that.
  9. Why did I watch this game? I'm going to go pull my nails out. Be back tomorrow for more Cubs baseball.
  10. Theriot sure did get a great jump on that ball. :-&
  11. um, I'll take Dempster's 0.00 ERA over Ohman's garbage Yup.
