  1. Hm, that was uneventful. Bottom half of the second coming up.
  2. Well, that was easy. Final lines: 0 0 0 for the Nats 9 18 0 for the Cubs
  3. I'm a bit surprised there wasn't a play at the plate.
  4. Nice to see some of that speed that Soriano's been lacking.
  5. What happened to Jerome Williams? He's not even on the Nats 40-man anymore.
  6. Redding on pace to record no outs and throw no strikes.
  7. Gotta take advantage of the Brewers loss, especially when it's to the Pirates. DON'T SUCK CUBS!
  8. I figured Molina was signed through 08 at the most. Definitely not interested in his contract.
  9. I was thinking a bit about our options last night and something came to mind that seems quite feasible. The Giants are sellers. I've already brought up Omar Vizquel as someone that Hendry would probably love, but what about Bengie Molina? He's having a pretty mediocre season, but he still seems like a guy Hendry would love and I can't imagine the Giants would be asking for too much. Vizquel and Molina aren't exactly world beaters, but they do improve us at our weakest positions.
  10. As priceless as this thread is, I think I'm going to stop this pseudo argument on my end.
  11. I never said Theriot was great. You said he's going to be a .320/.400 guy. That's pretty terrific.
  12. Also, for future reference: Joke /dʒoʊk/ Pronunciation Key - [johk] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation noun, verb, joked, jok·ing. –noun 1. something said or done to provoke laughter or cause amusement, as a witticism, a short and amusing anecdote, or a prankish act: He tells very funny jokes. She played a joke on him. 2. something that is amusing or ridiculous, esp. because of being ludicrously inadequate or a sham; a thing, situation, or person laughed at rather than taken seriously; farce: Their pretense of generosity is a joke. An officer with no ability to command is a joke. I suppose the second definition applies somewhat.
  13. Okay, I believe you. PS Cesar Izturis has a lot of talent. I'm gonna go on a tangent about it for the next week or so. But, if everyone disagrees with me, it was just a joke. Got it everyone? Good.
  14. Everything I'm hearing suggests Yi's going to Golden State. That Jason Richardson trade was dumb from the Bobcats' perspective and gave the Warriors plenty of ammunition for an eventual trade for Yi. Noah and Duhon for Yi is a deal Paxon would have to make if it was feasible. We'd be coming off with a steal.
  15. You're either really bad at making it clear you're joking or you're backtracking hardcore. I'm leaning heavily towards the latter.
  16. I was always running under the impression that the Wild Card wasn't practical, but I can't stand by that anymore. I think the Wild Card might be the way to go at this point. I certainly think we'll pass the Braves and Phillies, given that they have a tougher schedule. The NL West teams? Gotta hope they will beat up on each other. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see us win the Wild Card.
  17. Didn't Mark Prior call that Reyes would win a Cy Young at some point in his career?
  18. I predict Koyie Hill will not have an extra base hit.
  19. At least he's striking out more than he walks... by one.
  20. I was ready to make him the closer before tonight. Forget the interim tag. Then you'd be taking him out of too many spots where he'd be much more useful. More often than not, the closer isn't pitching in the toughest relief spots. Problem is, I think Lou will use the relievers depending on the inning, not the situation. In a perfect world, yeah, I'd love to have Marmol come in for the really tough jams. But, I don't think it'll work like that. If there's a jam, Lou's guy for that particular inning will come on.
  21. Marshall over Z? Theriot over Cedeno? You must really like white people.
  22. ¿QUE? No hablo español, en inglés por favor. Anyone can habla a good game!
  23. What really gets me more than the Theriot/Cedeno/Murton garbage is this: If you're going to start being a baseball fan this year, why choose the Cubs?
