  1. How is down by one run on the road against their best pitcher "embarrassing fashion"? I know its the Pirates but still. Paul Malholm is [expletive] terrible and we've been leaving runners everywhere. We've had far worse pitchers own us this year. Bold.

  3. You know, just when this team starts to look like they're putting together something, they pull this [expletive]. It's happened so much already this year. They snap off a few in a row and then lose in absolutely embarrassing fashion.
  4. Is it so much to ask to get one damn game over .500? Yes, apparently.
  5. it really does. at first i thought it was just my eyes, but it's pretty miserable. byrd favoring his leg once he got to second. really hope he's going to be ok. Wait, what happened to Byrd? I didn't notice him favoring anything.
  6. Meek is pretty much the only Pirate that has performed this season on the mound. If he can go multiple innings, we're probably going to fail to get over .500 for the 20th time this year.
  7. I'm glad our shortstop allowed that to happen.
  8. If decent = terrible then we could definitely fetch that kind of reliever for Baker or Tracy.
  9. Hm. Can't say I like this, but it will be exciting to see him play.
  10. That's an inexcusably bad call. It won't get talked about since it looks like this is gonna stay a blowout, but still.
  11. And a good bet to hit a very empty .300.
  12. There aren't many players I dislike enough to do a thread like this, but JP is definitely one of them; he's currently hitting .187/.260/.187 with a .224 wOBA. That's right. Not a single extra base hit yet. He's stealing bases at a 75% clip so that's ok. But, he's lost his leadoff job and now bats 9th in the White Sox lineup. Hilarious.
  13. Last year? Yeah, but why still act surprised that's "back?" It's not like he's just started hitting in the last few games. He's been looking good most of the season now. we're only a month in after a terrible year last year. I don't think it's terrible for some people to want to see a month (or more) of ABs before they determine last year was a blip (injury related or otherwise) rather than a trend. I only watched the last few innings. Was the umpire terribly inconsistent with balls and strikes all game? Yes.
  14. That was not fun at all. Until the end, I mean. -Marmol overcame a lot of questionable calls at home plate. -Soriano is... back? -Silva's first bad start of the year.
  15. I'm hoping that the ass-kicking on Thursday has inspired the Cubs.
