  1. When Bob said the league's leading home run hitter was on deck I assumed it was Mark Reynolds.
  2. I really don't like the DBacks odd to hit Marmol, but these walks aren't going to help.
  3. I'm just on gamecast. What happened? He landed awkwardly on his follow through and might have rolled his ankle a touch. He took one test pitch, but he's fine.
  4. He's starting to hit the ball hard, but unfortunately right at someone. That's a sign that his slump may be ending. I think (hope) he'll be ok. Perhaps he still may have some lingering shoulder issues? I'm more worried about the continued lack of contact than how hard he's hitting the ball when he does hit it. Maybe my perception is off, but it sure seems like he's still striking out at a dreadful rate.
  5. Argh. Aramis is still looking really bad.
  6. Nice ovations like that are what I'd point to when people claim Cubs fans don't care about baseball.
  7. D-Lee, now is the time to break out of that slump.
  8. It's absurdly irrational to have a bad feeling about him in a tie game but not with a lead.
  9. I didn't realize Soto was pinch run for. Damn it.
  10. Then stop posting. Another way to put this; "yes my argument is ridiculous and based on nothing, so if you don't like that then don't respond." How many more years would you like before a championship is won? Tell the Twins how much one measley game means to a team the last two years. That has literally nothing to do with Castro.
  11. This is all running under the assumption that Castro actually provides an improvement for the Cubs this year, which given his age and lack of development... well, that's far from a sure thing.

  13. tommy hanson turned 23 in august last year and had 2 years of full-season ball under his belt, including spending most of the previous year at AA. starlin castro just turned 20 a month ago and has played only 1 year of full-season ball, most of which was spent in A ball. hanson starting the year in AAA was in large part a financial decision; starting castro in AA has a lot more to do with not rushing the player and hurting his development. Yes but it seems to be that Castro is ready to join the big leagues. He showed it in ST and has shown it in the minors. I don't think he can really develop any more down there. He has maxed out the development he could get in the minors. Please explain how he's maxed out in development in the minors. That's ridiculous. The point is that having Castro in the big leages makes the Cubs better. Is he just one game better? Maybe, but it is the GMs responsibility to make every move that he can to bring a team closer to a World Series (within financial reason). So... you regret the maxed out thing, right?
  14. Kosuke's start sure is encouraging.
  15. Z hasn't looked all that good in his limited bullpen duty.
  16. Is the protest going on tomorrow as well? If so you might be able to score some cheap tickets from people who are too afraid to upset the protesters, and aren't true Cub fans What the hell are you talking about? You think someone's going to scalp their tickets because others are boycotting Arizona? Come on.
  17. Dempster is reallllllly classy for taking all of the blame for that loss.
  18. He was swinging the bat. The impression I get is that he was directed to move the runner over that way. And to be honest, I don't disagree with that. A left hander should be able to ground out and get the runner over.
  19. Yeah, blame the players Lou. Not the fact that you chose Chad Tracy over Soto. Quite frankly, I would've just left Hill into hit. I have a lot more faith in him than I do Chad Tracy who is just awful.
