  1. He's hitting .285 and his OBP is .335. That's not horrible, but it's pretty bad.
  2. I'm not convinced at all he'll be successful at it, but I am certainly convinced he should be given the chance. I couldn't agree more. I'm very worried by the fact that Colvin strikes out a ton, but he has shown much more power than I expected and he should be given a chance to prove whether he can perform well over an extended period of time. Even though he has been striking out a good amount, he has shown an ability to still take a walk and work a count which is something that his career minor league numbers wouldn't have predicted. I wouldn't exactly say he's shown an ability to take a walk. It's not wretched, but he's not walking much.
  3. Again, what exactly do you think he should be doing in regards to this situation?
  4. It'd be nice to not immediately lose the lead.
  5. It's certainly possible he'll do the same thing as Fontenot, but at this point there's no harm in playing him and finding out.
  6. I'm not convinced at all he'll be successful at it, but I am certainly convinced he should be given the chance.
  7. This is already looking to be a hilarious game.
  8. Interesting in what way? In the inconsequential not related to that incident at all way? I agree.
  9. I've had a tough time mustering up willpower to follow the Bulls too closely, but LBJ and Bosh would certainly make things easier.
  10. What are the patches the Cubs have on their sleeves?
  11. Yeah, must say I'm surprised that they're already saying that.
  12. Glad to hear that things will stay mostly intact. I'd really like to keep Ladd on board, though.
  13. I love the Cubs. I missed almost all of last year in Australia.
  14. Dude. What the hell is Rickett's going to do?
  15. It's probably no more than a dream but... Awesome.
  16. ooooo. that is interesting And fruitless. We all know it won't happen.
  17. I'm hoping that Cashner might get Z's spot.
  18. Well, probably not the case at all, but ok. It would sure seem that way, no? In what way do the White Sox have a better lineup or rotation than us on paper? I was referring to caring - both care. As far as the rotation goes; if you can't realize how much better the Sox rotation is there's no helping you.
  19. Just saw the replay... that sure was... something.
  20. Well, probably not the case at all, but ok.
  21. Ok, I missed the whole Z thing. What happened?
  22. Castro on the bench again. So it begins.
  23. When I think of baseball player, I think of players like Colvin, etc. I would give some other names, but then I would get crucified for putting those guys' names in the same sentence with Colvin. My point with the "baseball player" remark was that when I look at Colvin, I see a young player who is eager for his opportunity, but still goes out and hits in a lesser role. And when he does start, he's got a hop in his step and it is just fun to watch him out there. I don't really get the same vibe from Kosuke, that's all. You understand that baseball players don't have choices in their "role", right? It's not like Colvin says "You know...I'm not really ready to be a regular starter, so I think I'll take a backseat while I learn my place in this game." The "vibe" you get from players is a poor argument to use on this board. Okay fair enough. What kind of arguments would you say are effective on this board then? Stats only? One's that aren't based around "he looks like a baseball player" would be a good start. I'm for Colvin getting a lot of playing time at this point, but not because of the stupid nonsensical stuff you're saying.
