    haha raisin, you should have heard the cheers for karros from the "angels" fans in spring training 2003. seriously though, steinbrenner is devoting his money to cloning cheter for next year.

    It'll be like most others. The Yankees will try to buy everyone in sight. the problem for the yanks (and the cubs) is there's not a lot out there. aj burnett will make a mint.

    that park helps the pitching but that certainly has to be the reason. how was their offense?

    heh, I was at a bar in austin. everyone around me was congratulating me around the seventh despite my assurances that they would blow it. no one talked to me after the game.

    I hate that arrogant guy but good grief, he'll do anything to win.

    I hope somebody saves 40 plus for the cubs next year. I would rather pay wagner $8 or $9 than Dempster $5 I think.

    brenly is definitely better than mccarver or morgan. joe buck and tim mccarver is more or less announcing hell (aside from hawk harrelson and anyone)

    vlad and lee are pretty much a wash. so you figure nomar/ramirez is a wash with Anderson. so the big difference is the pen? I guess team speed and the ability to put the ball in play. I would prefer a lineup balanced with different kinds of hitters, but considering dusty, maybe we should go for the speedy contact guys.

    baseball names in general seem to be odd. milton bradley? coco crisp? nomar? chone figgins (since he is batting)?

    How did this team win so many games? Erstad? Finley? Cabrera? No lefties? I don't understand how this team wins. Since Dusty hates walks, maybe this is the model Hendry should be following.

    I would love to see Giles next year but I do worry about his contract length. Particularly if he has a lot of suitors.

    Don't take me for a Neifi fan, but Neifi actually had a pretty solid year for a SS, with all things considered. There's not too many guys that would be solid upgrades over him. My biggest problem with Neifi this year was Baker hitting him at the top of the order, and benching Cedeno for him. But he did play excellent D, and hit what, .280? He didn't cost us much either. That's really all I would really expect from a SS not named ARod, Tejada, or someone in that league. That doesn't mean I want Neifi back, just that I wouldn't go so far as to say we could replace him with "anything" and it'd be an upgrade. If the Cubs got production from the OF, neifi might work out ok. heck, the angels won the AL West with Erstad at 1b and Finley in CF. Still snowing down there?
