  1. it'll be tough in st. lou. but i have faith that clemens can beat morris in game 7 if he has to. I would love nothing more than St. Louis to win game six to get the hopes of cards fans around the world sky high. Then have Morris (my least favorite player in sports) get absolutely shellacked in game 7. It would truly make my week. no matter who you hate more, that play is what makes baseball great. no taking a knee in baseball.
  2. gee, gutsy. who didn't see that coming?
  3. yea a great hitter and a pathetic home park. that was the worst slider of lidge's life - should have just walked him.
  4. the sound of the fair weather fans hearts exploding was impressive. that was so predictable its almost hard to believe.
  5. no offense cards fan, but macias could have hit that meatball out! hahahahaha - deafening silence. now the cardinals can choke at home.
  6. hahahahahahahahahaha! saw that coming. at least astros fans know what a real homerun looks like now.
  7. albert is the man.
  8. now taking donations to get houston a major league park.
  9. LOL, you gotta love curtain calls for first inning solo homers.
  10. It was his fault, his game 1 homer should have won the game instead of just tying it. a better rbi man would have won that game there.
  11. It was just an observation someone made. They hit well with RISP, thus why they were successful. Why is this having to be dissected to the nth degree again? Since they led the league in average, it makes sense they led the league in RISP average. Boston: .281 New York: .276 Tampa Bay: .274 Detroit: .272 Cleveland: .271 LA Angels: .270 :-k hmm, that is puzzling . . . :D
  12. Hardly. Consider the contracts. Compare runs produced by ARod and Ramirez and runs prevented by Wood. I'm not saying there isn't matter to it but to say its a steal is hyperbole. I would be ok with Murton and Burnitz at the OF corners if ARod was at SS and Ramirez at 3b.
  13. What are Matsui's numbers?
  14. I would expect Giles power numbers to go way up at Wrigley as well.
  15. I wouldn't want to give up Prior or Zambrano either. I think Prior's trade value has about bottomed out (lets hope). What the thought out there goony? Are the Yankees going to go young or are they looking for more all-stars? I guess I could live with: Murton LF Walker 2b ARod SS Lee 1b Ramirez 3b Burnitz RF Hairston CF Barrett C or some such variety.
  16. I think the Cubs would have to offer much more than just that package. Sub in Jerome Williams for Rich Hill due to the park the Phillies play in, and then toss in Scott Moore & Felix Pie and you'd have a deal they might bite on. My guess is even more than that. They'd want an "ML-ready" position player, and arguably, Pie isn't that guy. Murton might be on their radar, and with the way the ball jumps out of that park, he would be very succesful there. Would you deal Murton, Hill, and a Single A prospect to get Abreu? It depends on who you get for LF and CF. It doesn't do you much good to upgrade to Abreu in RF, and then get crap in the other two spots. I don't think the Cubs should talk much about a 1 on 1 deal, I really think they have to get involved in a three way to help Philly unload Thome. That's the way you get away with giving up less talent. *Oh, and yes I'd do that deal if I could sign Giles for LF. Then I'd go Hairston, Giles, Lee, Abreu, Ramirez, Walker, Barrett, Cedeno and be pretty happy with my lineup. \ why not Walker before Giles? Just curious - I don't actually think it would make any difference.

  18. LOL, most overrated player ever. well, except jeter. though I have to admit jeter is clutch in the postseason (ouch that hurt).
  19. something about an accelerator tearing the fabric of the universe leading to "good, thats the only way the cubs will win a world series."
  20. ouch, konos getting after the cubs on the simpsons trailer.
  21. How can you get rid of guy who put up A-Rods numbers this year, especially with Texas picking up a sizeable portion of his contract? I guess you could get a mint for him in a trade, though. steinbrenner isn't rational.
  22. That would be nice to have A-Rod playing SS. :D he's too young... Dusty would bench him neifi is better defensively.
