  1. I would prefer baker.
  2. trolls everywhere! well just cardsfaninca
  3. Didn't someone write an article here that said it would cost us 2 or 3 games this year?...turns out it was 2 or 3 games a week. That's ridiculous. The offense was bad with Lee and now its downright terrible. There are a few more factors than just Lee being out. For instance, the Cubs had an amazing BA with RISP prior to Lee's injury - the last few games its been terrible. Walker has cooled off. 5 runs per game is bad??    -a thoughtless post

  5. yea you did - liar!
  6. that defense is ridiculous anyway. speed doesn't score - baserunners do. bet you're glad you didn't go.
  7. how about zambrano just glares him to death?
  8. Z should be done. my bet is dusty throws him back in there.
  9. yea, wilkerson caught the ball and then crashed hard into the wall. corey could have tagged and gone to second but instead he waffled around a few feet from first and then eventually ran to second without tagging. had he gone back and tagged he could have made second easily. not sure why he couldn't see the out call or if the ump didn't make a clear call or what. that very possibly wasn't his fault.
  10. make margaritas and get really really drunk.
  11. thats why walks are worthless - they only lead to double plays.
  12. offense is struggling = remove the rookies?
  13. I have a bad feeling the cubs record at petco is going to "regress to the mean" this weekend.
  14. What I don't understand on that play is why he didn't just tag up and then go - he was like 4 feet from first and could have made it back and still gotten to second.
  15. OK, I firmly believe Dusty is actively trying to get fired. That is right up there with a late '90s Cub lineup. Wholy Christ, I haven't missed listening to a game this year, but I don't know if I can handle this. hey, it makes perfect to remove the two most productive hitters from a struggling lineup. these guys need at bats to get the skunk out of the boat.
  16. last years team was too reliant on home runs this years team is too reliant on the opposing defense making four straight errors no way man - speed never slumps! Just look at all the runs we've produced this week alone! 2!
  17. good to see the cubs solved their problem of too many homeruns!
  18. I don't and I would make the same statement about cub fans.
  19. you know what's good for that . . . beer. and sex. and sexy beer!
  20. how we are manufacturing so many runs with our team speed? Speed never slumps!
  21. and the hoffman save pulls me within 4 . . . gotta get ahead though with all those starters coming back.
  22. I take exception to that. There are plenty of diehards who have followed the team devoutly pre-Enron Field. Biggio and Bagwell have not just set the mood in the clubhouse, they have created a fanbase that enjoys to see baseball played well. The issue I have is that the gimmick ballpark and the addition of Clemens have lowered the fan IQ considerably. The positive from that is that those "fans" pour more money into the team. I never dreamt that the Astros would be able to have this competitive of a payroll. They'll eventually either smarten up or jump ship. yes, there are exceptions.
