  1. The KB line seems the most surprising . . .
  2. worst treatment I've seen since Dexter Fowler!
  3. Gotta say, Netherlands didn't look good either. I thought USWNT was just sloppy - would be easier to overlook if it wasn't similar to their recent friendlies. Spain and Japan looked very good. Hard to judge anything in these mismatches though. I am wondering if this is a preview of the expanded field men's version - lots of "close" games that are only close because one team just defends deep the whole game. Has not been great to watch so far.
  4. Hopefully they will be a little sharper soon . . .
  5. when in Milan I guess
  6. yea, I had to turn that off. Then I saw the final score and didn't bother to go back and watch. frankly, there really is no need for a nations league and a gold cup so I think the US approach to the gold cup was good. seems like you sort the good from the not so good from these games.
  7. This is interesting - it would be great to see a draft review after the signings are complete. The way bonuses are allocated really leaves it impossible to evaluate a draft until it is known who signed and for how much.
  8. I think it's great! Only real comment would be are this many threads necessary? But thank you to all who put the effort in to know who these players are!
  9. I think the positive RD is a better justification than beating a struggling yankees team without it's best player though - really, they have underperformed record wise so the thought process should be whether that is the result of something other than luck and can they fix it? Looking at a baseball landscape that is increasingly haves and have nots, to me, the cubs should be clearly in the haves and that should be the long-term plan. so, whether they trade now should be decided by what best suits the long-term plan not what happens in a given series here or there. if they get in and lose a first round series doesn't make much difference to me, this isn't 1995.
  10. This seems very short-sighted - winning this series doesn't move the needle on this team's level and shouldn't change the plan at all.
  11. What is up with the schedule where you get a week off and then a two-day turnaround (and a day less than your opponent)?
  12. These matchups really indicate how lame CONCACAF is . . . interesting though that the top two games listed there would be your recent top 4 teams . . . Panama seems to have maybe supplanted Costa Rica?
  13. the movement in these games just seems so much better than in any of the berhalter games . . . am I just imagining this? Not just the GC but the real games also - they look dangerous in their plan even when the execution is less than stellar.
  14. CP to AC Milan seems to be in the works
  15. is it moving to summer? at some point, players are going to have to insist on contracts limiting the number of games they have to play. it's the only way to protect themselves
  16. I agree on Tyler and also that you need numerous mids to win a tournament.
  17. I don't think any coach should ever just stick with status quo . . .
  18. Luka Modric. This guy is amazing. Sunday at 1145 is the UEFA Nations League final - don't miss this chance to see him play because time is running out.
  19. That ref is so completely lost. At times, it looked like he took out the yellow card and started waving it around randomly. McKennie was sent off for grabbing at someone's throat per the broadcast after a VAR review of the incident. It's a tough call to me when a team defends itself against goonish behavior - you can't just let it go and given that it was Balogun, I think there had to be a response. Once you're in that scrum, and McKennie is surrounded by opponents in front of their bench, bad things come about. But what is he supposed to do? Not thrilled about Berhalter but we'll see what happens. It feels like the shackles came off offensively and I hate to see them go back on.
  20. bigger sample size? I think if you were using it as a predictor of NFL success, you would have to look back at many years. Of course, comparing where the results are relative to other concurrent NFL players is probably the meaningful way to do that.
  21. the only interesting thing about the draft is really the teeth gnashing by the fans . . .
  22. and at 4 (1) - clearly the NFL does not think as much of him as the player rankers.
