  1. Dortmund just doesn't want to win the Bundesliga . . .
  2. KDB in the mood today . . . game, set, match
  3. "Girona's Valentin Castellanos became the first player to score four in a LaLiga game against Real Madrid this century" Last was in 1947
  4. LOL - I had never heard of him! This post makes me realize though what an incredibly stupid name Real Salt Lake is
  5. 4-1. Valentin Castellanos has 4 goals. That'll be a good story for the grandkids!
  6. Right now, Real Madrid is down 3-1 to Girona in a midweek league match. You might think they are heavily rotated as they have given up on the league title, but they aren't. Courtois is the only notable absentee. I think there is also an element of not playing full intensity. If you watch City at all, you can see the exhaustion in KDB - his body just can't recover to play full intensity. I suspect this is what has happened to Liverpool as well - Klopp's style is just so demanding physically. Interesting example you gave as I'm not sure those UCL fixtures are that much tougher than the Europa ones and you only have to get second.
  7. I think Brock's point was that they have underperformed for a couple years more than pointing out this year.
  8. which suggests that talent is over-rated to me.
  9. Clearly this statement cannot be true. The perception of their talent is what is misaligned. Regardless, awfully early to write them off.
  10. This is a pretty well known and documented phenomenon. However, I do think the physicality of the premier league makes it a bit worse for those teams. One curious thing about the influx of money is that I think it will actually make the premier league less physical as the bottom teams bring in more talented players. It looks less and less like 10 skilled teams and 10 teams of big, physical players.
  11. I wouldn't even try to re-sign Kane. He has more value as a sale than as a player at this point.
  12. Getting a mint for Kane seems like a savvy start. Son too probably. I agree with you though. they are the premier league's version of caught in mediocrity.
  13. not sure that was "whipped in" but it was inch perfect . . .
  14. they're already in big trouble - only a shocking win saves them now.
  15. yea, the tuchel experiment hasn't gone well . . . though don't think you can blame him.
  16. 5.61 runs per game vs 4.09 last year. around 5 in 2017 and 2016 though no DH those years.
  17. so, um, uh, meaningless statistic?
  18. I'm upper management - I don't do anything myself. or at all really
  19. I demand action! Less than an hour to first pitch!
  20. hahaha . . . I never track people's thread titles! Just feels a bit like there are so many bland threads these days . . . like wading through 25 topics and 24 seem very dull . . . maybe it's a reflection of the team?
  21. slide and tag coach
