  1. You can have your opionion which is great. After having a high degree of success and quality of picks, then I would guess that would have some merit vs some of the mediocre clubs.

  3. Why would they want that guy, 1st of all he cant evaluate and secondly, he tried to destroy a talented Dodger organization and the third reason, he's got zero personality. It looks like the Pirates have named Frank Coonelly from Seligs office as the CEO and they want a person who can evaluate which certainly isnt Depodesta, it should be someone like Logan White who's one of the main reasons why the Dodgers are becoming successful once again or our guy Tim Wilken who's track record is 2nd to none!
  4. Yikes, the years have not been kind. A gomer look from a Californian.
  5. If you look in the past of drafts by Wilken, they've been late maturing drafts with some depth and hopefully these last two have as much success as his has in the past.
  6. Actually it really takes 8 to 10 yrs before you see the real quality. If you followed Wilkens draft in 97 with the Jays, his players really didnt make in roads until 3 to 4 yrs ago, which included Vernon Wells, Mike Young and Orlando Hudson. His draft of Alex Rios in 99 shocked alot of people and took quite some time for Rios to develope, Rios only hit 6 home runs his 1st 4 yrs of pro ball and his plate discipline was really questioned, now he's considered one of the best hitters in the american league.
  7. 7 of the 8 teams are below .500? That's crazy. The avg age of the well over 500 club is almost 23, while Boise who has two starting pitchers in their rotation at 18 in Acosta and 19 in Huseby.
  8. Extra inning ball games always seem to arise in Sept and we have enough backup, we hope?
  9. Good to hear, I think that would benefit him greatly. Sasser left yesterday's Boise game with a left shoulder injury (he's a lefty). The radio guy from Boise said he injured it on a fielding play. Also how bout a 3 way tie for your division and you get the short straw/Peoria!
  10. Tennessee/Listach could hold Sammy back for the playoffs?
  11. Mikey Malcontent your full of sunshine sweetheart!
  12. Colvin will be attending instructional league also!
  13. Not sure he can make it, but thought he might have a chance. (Acosta)
  14. Announcers on Yakima radio had Acosta 90-93 on the radio and said " he had a pretty good slider".
  15. No love for Marquez he went 4 for 4 last night and is in the Top 10 in runs batted in the NWL.
  16. 7TH rounder from last yr, was actually the Cubs 4th pick overall. Played at U of Texas his frosh yr, transfer to Chipola jc in Florida his soph yr where he played ss, Cubs tried him @ 2B. Looks to be a good hitter with some extra base hit potential. Cubs put him behind the plate in extended spring and its been an ongoing experiment. Looks like quite the hitter,
  17. He's at Mesa right now, pitched the last two innings last night. Francisco Acosta thee other pitcher that was at Mesa is on the DL, for some reason, both games that Ryan has pitched, they've listed him under Francisco's era, even thou he' on the DL.
  18. Have we gotten any bonus info on Acosta yet? Splinter, given that he was a HS shortstop, I'd be really shocked if he opened at Peoria right off the bat. Splinter, any sense for whether we'll sign anybody else other than Vitters before the deadline tomorrow? Last year Huseby was a big surprise, and I was rather surprised to see Russell sign this year, at superslot. I'd like to see another superslot surprise pop up. Pre-draft, Wilken talked more than once about tracking some guys over the summer leagues and maybe signing somebody at the end. Two months of summer isn't quite like a D+F full spring season, and obviously guys can't physically mature between June and August the way they can between June and May. But it would be fun to get a surprise signing or two here at the last minutes. By the way, Wilken's D+F work last round looks very interesting. Rosa, Hatley, and Redmond have all been pretty interesting. And Latham has spotted some good outings, too. Acosta has pitched already @ Mesa and will also pitch in instructional league, probably not in the beginning next spring in Peoria but he could suprise. Also I'll bet the Cubs and Wilken will have one other signing besides Vitters hopefully.
  19. Wyatt had his 23 game hitting steak snapped.
  20. Its based on the entire season I believe.
  21. I think Tennessee makes the wild card fairly easy?
  22. Possibly Russell, Acosta and Hatley.
  23. I believe that would be bottom of 4th or top 5th round, because Barney received 222 at the top of the 4th round this yr, ^ refering to Rosa I meant.
  24. I think he had a 6k performance his last or next to last start in the FSL.
