  1. Who saw the Indian kid flip Braun the bird?
  2. This is the most I've loved this team in a long time.
  3. http://www.seasidescents.com/images/apple_pie.jpg
  4. Gah, I'm still mad about Soriano. ](*,)
  5. Yep, it definitely looks like it happened on his stupid little hop. *sigh* I knew that hop would eventually come back to hurt him. I thought he'd drop a ball doing it first. At least now he'll stop doing it. And he's out of the game, perfect. What an idiot.
  6. My TV is broken, so I have to settle for "Ball in play, run(s)"... but man, no words have ever sounded sweeter.
  7. I have no idea if the math checks out, but whatever. National League East 1. New York Mets (99-63) 2. Philadelphia Phillies (89-73) 3. Atlanta Braves (84-78) 4. Washington Nationals (78-84) 5. Pittsburgh Pirates (73-89) National League West 1. Los Angeles Dodgers (92-70) 2. Arizona Diamondbacks (88-74) 3. Colorado Rockies (85-77) 4. San Diego Padres (85-77) 5. 8. Ugh, I haven't opened this thread for the past hundred pages or so but this whole thing is so stupid. If I were Hendry, I would have offered no more than Patterson and Marshall. Fits both sides: Marshall jumps right into the rotation and Patterson is a promising young player that can replace Roberts. Angelos/MacPhail are being ridiculous demanding four players. Roberts is a good player and all, but certainly not worth our top three pitching prospects. Just let DeRosa have the job he was promised and end this whole fiasco.
  9. Last time I checked, subtracting a negative is a positive. Even when you factor in his adjustment to American baseball, Fukudome will most certainly outproduce Jones and Floyd's 2007. And while he may be a rookie, it won't take much for Soto to contribute more than the Barrett/Blanco/Bowen/Hill/Kendall five-headed monster that played last season. If this is all that it takes to become a sportswriter then I'm glad I'm pursuing a degree in journalism. I'll be making bank :-k
  10. Over-under on how many game winning hits Macias has against us in 2008?
  11. In a perfect world... 1. Mark DeRosa (SS) 2. Kosuke Fukudome (RF) 3. Derrek Lee (1B) 4. Aramis Ramirez (3B) 5. Alfonso Soriano (2B) 6. Matt Murton (LF) 7. Geovany Soto © 8. Felix Pie (CF) =P~
  12. Me, too. I'd like to see this lineup...1. Mark DeRosa (SS) 2. Kosuke Fukudome (RF) 3. Derrek Lee (1B) 4. Aramis Ramirez (3B) 5. Alfonso Soriano (2B) 6. Matt Murton (LF) 7. Geovany Soto © 8. Felix Pie (CF) People have this perception that Soriano is an elite outfielder. I know that he has a cannon for an arm, but he's an awful fielder. Granted, Murton isn't much better... but I wouldn't mind shifting Soriano back to second base. After last year, I think that teams will stop running on him anyway.
  13. I always considered him a Carl Crawford type of player.
  14. If he's going to be used strictly as a lefty specialist, I'm okay with it.
  15. I think that the Astros will be a non-issue in 2008, but a heart of the order that includes Berkman, Lee, Tejada, and Pence is still pretty formidable, especially at Minute Maid Park.
  16. Not that familiar with the Astros farm system, but from what I gather this is like us giving up Marshall, Gallagher, Murton, and Patterson for Tejada? If so, Houston got hosed.
  17. #-o I hope you're being sarcastic. How can you base whether or not a player "blows" on less than 200 AB? His early struggles mean next to nothing. He's still our top prospect.
  18. I'd offer Marshall, Patterson, and Cedeno. Take it or leave it. Roberts is a nice upgrade, but not worth the likes of Hill, Pie, Marmol, or even Gallagher. 1. Brian Roberts (2B) 2. Kosuke Fukudome (RF) 3. Derrek Lee (1B) 4. Aramis Ramirez (3B) 5. Alfonso Soriano (LF) 6. Mark DeRosa (SS) 7. Geovany Soto © 8. Felix Pie (CF)
  19. He looks so much younger clean-shaven.
  20. I wonder if Hendry could pull off this trade without dealing Hill and Marmol. Maybe a package of Marshall, Veal or Gallagher, Patterson, and Cedeno could work? Then, sign Fukudome and call it a day. Put Crawford in left, Pie in center, Fukudome in right... move Soriano back to second and shift DeRosa over to shortstop. Yeah, everybody's playing out of position, but think of the lineup. 1. Alfonso Soriano (2B) 2. Carl Crawford (LF) 3. Derrek Lee (1B) 4. Aramis Ramirez (3B) 5. Kosuke Fukudome (RF) 6. Mark DeRosa (SS) 7. Geovany Soto © 8. Felix Pie (CF)
  21. If I were the Reds GM, I'd take the Brewers model and go with a young and homegrown offense and a mix of veterans and rookies on the pitching staff. Start by trading Griffey and Dunn for pitching. Call up Votto and Bruce and play them everyday. That leaves you with... 1. Norris Hopper (CF) 2. Jeff Keppinger (SS) 3. Josh Hamilton (RF) 4. Brandon Phillips (2B) 5. Joey Votto (1B) 6. Edwin Encarnacion (3B) 7. Jay Bruce (LF) 8. David Ross © 1. Aaron Harang (SP) 2. Pitcher acquired from Dunn trade (SP) 3. Bronson Arroyo (SP) 4. Pitcher acquired from Griffey trade (SP) 5. Homer Bailey (SP) Looks like a team that would terrorize the Cubs.
  22. I've had the worst luck with running backs this season. I picked Shaun Alexander and Deuce McAllister in the draft, and we all know what happened to Deuce. After he went down, I traded for Cadillac Williams. The first week I have him, he gets hurt and is done for the season, too. I've been starting Derrick Ward, who has been pretty solid but now Jacobs is back so he's not getting as many carries. I currently have the following two offers on the table... Offer 1: I send: TJ Houshmandzadeh I recieve: Reggie Bush, Calvin Johnson Offer 2: I send: Braylon Edwards I recieve: Brandon Jacobs, Julius Jones Should I take either?
  23. Has a call ever been reversed in our favor all year?
