  1. Alert!!!!!!!!!! Apparently the Blue Jay manager and his pitcher got into a fight after the pitcher was removed. Themanager ended up with a bloody nose (same manager that wanted Hillenbrand (spelling) to fight him!!!!!!!
  2. I think one or two had to be earned... not sure though Any runs scored after what should have been the 3rd out are unearned, at least that's my understanding. The box score and announcers agree that all four runs are unearned. The Utley HR is an earned run. Time to lift Hill as he is at 101 pitches. Well now the official scorer has changed one of the errors (the first one) to a fielder's choice, so the first run scored was earned, the rest unearned and the 5th run, scored the next inning, was also earned. Bottom line two of the five runs earned, 3 unearned.

  4. Four unearned runs that inning. You gotta luv 'em.
  5. Well now I'm getting confused as to which game I'm watching, but I think the Little Leaguers are better fundamentally.
  6. Probably not much to see.....it will be interesting to see if Kornheiser can cause Theeseman's head to explode. I certainly hope so.
  7. No, in honor of the ongoing Little League World Series, the 10 run mercy rule is in effect and the final score will 13-2 in a four inning game.
  8. The Apocalypse is upon us and Hendry just "told" Dusty he'll not be back next year. Whose Dusty to love now?
  9. Baseballs greatest fans have officially gone ballistic over taking Duncan out and are gathering their torches and pitchforks to go after Tony "I'm a Genius" La Russa. I believe they call him worse names than Dusty gets here.
  10. Yep...he looked like he needed an oxygen tank on the bench. That being said he was moving pretty quick around those bases. His arms started flailing a bit as he headed home, and his steps became a little choppy. He lost his form. Hopefully those extra steps he took while fatigued caused him to blow out a knee or tear a hamstring. Nope, but Mark Prior got hurt shaving today. 1) What part of his body was he shaving? 2) How do you know? His legs of course. I heard him yelling. I didn't know you shaved your LEGS when you were pregnant!
  11. If you're in a spot where you can have the sound of the radio playing, you really should listen to the radio over the Internet. If you need to know where to find it, I can get you the link. It is so much more enjoyable, at least to me. I thought all radio internet feeds were blacked out permanently so you would be forced to buy mlb audio. Typically, the main feed for the team (for this one, the one out of Chicago) is blacked out, but the stations that don't necessarily play every game are not usually blacked out. Well bless your heart--I learned something that is actually useful. Thanks :D

  13. Inquiring minds want to know, which comes first: Z plunks a deadbird or Suppan plunks Aram?
  14. It's called Baker-logic. Too bad his logic is only understood by him and nobody else. The key to decrypt his logic was stolen by Hank Aaron and never recovered. ...and The Hammer had it stolen from him by the two kids chasing him when he hit #715. Oh, did you know, when Henry hit that home run Dusty was in the on deck circle (probably chewing his toothpick).
  15. Say, didn't a federal judge just rule that such things violated the consitution? No her ruling (which has already been stayed by the 6th Circuit) only applied to terrorists, not baseball managers. So, the CIA can still control Dusty's mind, but just can't try to catch terrorists.
  16. To answer someone'squestion, Eckstein was hurt during the collision at the plate. He got up holding his side. As to why Dusty batted Marmol just before he took him oout of the game, my theory is that Dusty's hat is lined with tinfoil and the CIA, which is secretly located under Busch Stadium, is sending him gamma rays controlling his managerial moves.
  17. In a word Dusty and when Z throws 371 pitches his next outing and you ask why, again in a word, Dusty.
  18. Dude, like I uh needed to uh get that Dude uh uh uh yeah that Dude you know an AB. Alternate response: Dude , I was you know in the on deck circle when Aaron hit number 715.

  20. Man we really need the cubs with a three run lead, two out and none on in the bottom of the ninth---then a fastball in the middle of some Astros' butt.
  21. I just wanted to be a part of this year's shortest game thread. OK no more posts until the cubs take the lead.
  22. Regarding Todd Walker, let me quote Fred from page one of this game thread: Percentage of baserunners driven in Code: 04/03 - 08/09 BDI LOB RBI% Restovich 1 2 0.333 Blanco 19 49 0.279 Walker 34 105 0.245 Perez 22 76 0.224 Ramirez 47 163 0.224 Barrett 32 113 0.221 Murton 31 112 0.217 Jones 38 140 0.213 Theriot 1 4 0.200 Mabry 11 55 0.167 Izturis 2 10 0.167 Pagan 6 31 0.162 Nevin 12 65 0.156 Lee 10 58 0.147 Pierre 21 124 0.145 Bynum 4 25 0.138 Cedeno 25 158 0.137 Hairston 4 27 0.129 Womack 1 14 0.067 CUBS 334 1422 0.190 Well, Freds looked nicer, just go back to page one.
  23. Thanks Cubbies75. Aram has done a better job of hitting HRs when the outcome of the game is in doubt than I thought. He just may be worth the money I'm sure he'll demand. In any event, he's a keeper, but will Hendry realize that?
  24. Hey Fred, your mission if you decide to accept: For each of Aram's home runs this year, is there any way to find out what the game score and inning was and also the Cub's record entering that game? I'm curious as to how many of his HRs came during meaningful times of a game and during a time the Cubs weren't tanking (realizing they were in the race only a few weeks).
