  1. Have two 325 game winners ever faced each other before?
  2. I just returned from 22 days of fishing in Alaska. I missed North Korea firing missiles, the start of another middle east war, another stock market downturn, etc.; thank goodness I didn't miss any Cubs victories--apparently (wished I could have seen the two grand slam game though). Anyway, got my drinks handy and ready to watch the Cubbies make their stretch run for the Fecal League Championship.
  3. Knowing that Dusty Half-Baked is the manager, I'm sure your question is rhetorical.
  4. In Cleveland tonight, Cubs lose....and that's the way it is, Tuesday, June 20, 2006.
  5. CWS scores eleven runs against the Cards in the bottom of the 3rd and lead 11-1, in the top of the fourth. KC battling back and trails the Pirates 5-4, KC still batting in the bottom of the 3rd. Mavs lead by 4 after 4:30 played.
  6. Pale Hose hang 9 runs on the Cards and still batting in the bottom of the 3rd (9-1).
  7. Thanks Fred for the PBP and stats (including the new ones you added Sunday). Let us know your itinerary when you hit the road, there's a lot of free beers out there as a way of our saying thanks.
  8. St L trails the Pale Hose 2-1, CWS batting bottom of 3rd. In a battle between the two top teams of the Fecal League, KC trails the Pirates 5-1, top 2nd. NBA prediction tonights game, Dallas by 14.
  9. Long enough for everyone to get to my house to drink Irish Car Bombs. None of us will ever know the game resumed so Cubs win!
  10. From Chicago, Cubs lose...and that's the way it is, Sunday, June18, 2006. Happy Father's Day!
  11. The Cobs are like a three bag woman. You know, one bag for her, one bag for you and one bag for your dog so he'll still respect you in the morning.
  12. I have no idea what this means, but it amuses me. Mark has suffered from a plethora of medical and mental problems. Many blame this on his pregnancy, which has lasted an elephantine period of years. You may want to go to this link and read of his medical and mental woes, but you may find some of the language mildly offensive. http://www.rivalfish.com/rivalroom/2006/05/mark-prior-tender-cha-cha.html
  13. The formerly pregnant Prior just delivered his baby in the left field bleachers.
  14. I'm assuming you're one of my long lost chirruns and were being a thoughtful child by misleading me as to the game start time so I would miss the game and have an enjoyable day. Thanks. If the games not on at 11:20 I'll assume its' been canceled due to lack of interest or that the Cubs conceded to spare everyone the misery of wasting an otherwise fine Sunday afternoon.
  15. From Chicago, Cubs lose...and that's the way it is, Saturday, June 17, 2006.
  16. Man this is tough. I want the Pirates to win to help the Cubs move down (up) in the Fecal League Standings, but my man Boof Bonser is pitching for the Twins and I can't root against him.
  17. If the Pirates lose today, yes this will be a new low. In other news, Phil Mickelson is tied with Kenneth Ferrie for the lead after three rounds at plus 2.
  18. What, no double switches today? Dusty's not even trying!
  19. Well, I've officially shifted from drinking Black and Tans to Irish Car Bombs.
  20. Over/under of how long this current losing streak last? 96 more games or until Dusty is fired, whichever comes first.
  21. Just got here from playing golf. Are we playing a double header or just double posting? Anyway, Fred what do you think about Henry Blanco having the highest RBI Percentage of any Cubbie through last night's game? He's at 21.95% (32 runners on; 8 RBI's; less 1 HR). I think an adequate sample size is paramount in any comparison. Sure is a nice start, tho. Just grasping at straws!

  23. Fred, two questions. The Cardinals have the following pre/post Pujols injury stats: pre-injury (thru jun 3) won-loss: 34-21 (.618) runs per game: 5.02 runs created/27 outs: 4.93 homers/27 outs: 1.02 avg: .275 obp: .351 slg: .423 post-injury (since jun 3) won-loss: 6-5 (.500) runs per game: 5.73 runs created/27 outs: 5.45 homers/27 outs: 0.75 avg: .303 obp: .361 slg: .447 Have you looked at anything like this for the Cubs/Lee? Second, what do you think about using a RBI Percentage Chart such as developed by Baseball Musings? I like it to some extent, but think you must back out IBBs and probably should back out all walks and HBPs. Thanks for your thoughts, you do a tremendous job!
