  1. ahh, what the hell... in before the lock as well. (no rhyme intended)
  2. I hope not. At my first game ever, Vlad threw me one in the last year of the Expo's existance. Corcky the catcher *Reds* also accidentaly threw his bat in the stands and I should have had it. (Some crazy kid with ADD was screaming so I let him have it avoiding a fight)
  3. I feel sorry for the cameramen coming sunday to record Prior's come back game. (Kenny Rogers is starting  ) http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/6195/rogers4yg.jpg
  4. Hopefully it just means Marshall's getting pushed back a day and Rusch is getting taken out of the rotation, but knowing the Cubs, they'll probably send Marmol down or something equally as stupid. after marmol's performance in his first start, i have to think that guzman will be the one sent down. what will be the 40-man move to bring prior back, though? he's on the 60 day DL, meaning someone's got to be removed. rusch? maybe he's being given the start on friday to pitch for his job one last time? IMO, He has had enough chances. Although if he starts performing like he did in 04, I would have no problem with him staying in the rotation. I really thought I was gonna like the guy after last year, but his stats pulled a " John Kerry" (6-2 to 2-6 *total flip-flop*)
  5. Great news. Too bad he is taking Marshalls spot sunday instead of Rusch's tommorow...
  6. Torii says yes to Fenway Jun 14 - Torii Hunter has removed the Red Sox as one of the teams in the no-trade clause portion of his current contract, according to a report in the St. Paul Pioneer Press. Hunter, in the final year of his contract with the Twins, said that he would waive the clause if Boston were to pursue a trade for him this season. "I'm not a big fan of the angles of the outfield fence [at Fenway Park]," Hunter told the paper. "My thing is defense, and if I can't play defense, then I've got nothing. But the ballpark itself is OK. Boston's aura and David Ortiz, trust me, those are the positives." Last year, Hunter added the Cubs to the list of five teams in his no-trade clause because of the brick outfield wall at Wrigley Field. But he said he would waive the clause for the Cubs, too. Hunter said he would not approve a trade to the other teams: Detroit, Tampa Bay and Toronto. ESPN Insider -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Comments?
  7. Poor Corey. :( No kidding... With Derrek Lee still at my 1b slot, Aubrey Huff, Dmitri Young, and Matsui in my OF slots (now Corey in for Young and Matthews in for Godzilla), Chavez at 3rd (hammie tear),4 of my 5 pitchers sent back to the minors, etc.. Im starting to think my fantasy curse is for real.
  8. Here is the true test... My fantasy team jinx!!! *Releases Dmitri Young, adds Corey Patterson to OF slot #3*
  9. I could see Bob Brenly fitting in quite nicely as manager. He brought the D-Backs from nothing to a series, maybe he could have the same effect on the Cubbies (although quite unlikely)
  10. Im with all of the Dusty haters too, but honestly, who could we get to replace him? (that wont be worse than he is now)
  11. I hope anything with Oswalt crashes and burns and destroys all who ride it. I hate him to, but if one win for him means that Fat Glen gets DFA'd, Im all for it.
  12. Ehh, attempted the WGN, but was quickly locked. Roy Oswalt BandWGN? Oh well, its the thought that counts.
  13. Wednesday, June 14 Wrigley Field | 7:05 PM CT Roy Oswalt, RHP (5-3, 3.11) Astros (32-32) @ Glendon Rusch, LHP (2-6, 7.29) Cubs (26-36) Scouting Report: Oswalt was placed on the disabled list with a strained back, but because it was retroactive to Oswalt's last start -- May 30 -- he's eligible to come off the DL in time for the middle game at Wrigley Field. Manager Phil Garner said he expects Oswalt to make that start, but the right-hander will be re-evaluated when that game gets closer. Last year, Oswalt was 2-1 with a 5.00 ERA over three starts versus the Cubs. Rusch lasted 3 2/3 innings in his last start against red-hot Cincinnati. The lefty has struggled with location all year, and the Reds took advantage of his mistakes. He gave up five runs on seven hits and struck out five. He's given up 29 earned runs over 31 innings as a starter for an 8.42 ERA.
  14. Chances are that if Fat Glen gets another L wednesday, he is gone! So in that case, I will join the BandWGN, BandWGN and will create "the official Roy Oswalt BandWGN!" Whose with me?
  15. Lmao. Fantasy Comparison: Alex Rodriguez 1120 Miguel Tejada 915 Derek Jeter 815 Neifi Perez 135 Enrique Wilson -5 Oh my god. To be 140 less fantasy points than Neifi Perez is really saying something. How is that guy still in the league? Would you like fries with that?
  16. Completely agreed. Its nice to see a catcher get a little recognition after a W (Too bad he can't do the same with Fat Glen)
  17. Ah, oh well. Even a broken clock is right twice a day. But I can see the announcement now... "Because of outstanding work on the field this year, We (the Cubs organization) have decided on giving Neifi Perez a 8 year contract extention effective immediatly"--Jim Hendry
  18. We are possibly trading for Adam Dunn, and the main contender for nailing Carlos Lee in the offseason? Sorry if these are dumb questions to you as I have been doing nothing but schoolwork throughout this entire season.
  19. The pitcher we are facing tonight has 2 more home runs than our lead off hitter. Oh yeah, almost forgot. They both came off of Glendon Rusch (the starter for the cubbies tonight) God help us..
