  1. rich's fastball is 2-3 mph lower than it was last season. im blaming early spring lack of arm strength
  2. he got off to a similar start last season and fell apart during the meat of the SEC schedule. Be catious with the stats you see, he's faced glorified texas/southern california high school teams.
  3. Good catch. I disagree with that assessment because Rich has been good on every level he's pitched and, until he shows me that his overall numbers last season were fluky, I have no reason to believe otherwise. I think they're just high on these upcoming prospects. Even if Rich Hill is merely mediocre, I could see Lilly being moved by 2010 before him. this stuff is so old. Callis said he just forgot about hill and he should be on there. dont read too much into it.
  4. http://www.collegesplits.com/ if not, i thought id let you come to the party late.
  5. some guys throw a cutter in the low 90s. Rivera for instance. Nen was different, his was a true slider. The hardest I think I've seen Lidge throw a true slider was 91. I believe Smoltz got his up to 90 when he was closing. Nen's had plus movement, plus command and plus-plus velocity. If there was ever a plus-plus-plus pitch, his slider might have been it.
  6. i had a 96 mph slider on mvp baseball. god i was unhittable. we all know it's a mistake, but i know I saw Robb Nen touch 93-94 with his slide piece in his prime.
  7. Anyone know who is going for the Sox besides Garland?
  8. a picture is worth a thousand words. this is on the barrett homer http://us.news2.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/ap/20070303/capt.azer10303032307.cubs_athletics_spring_baseball_azer103.jpg
  9. why would lou even bother getting someone loose?
  10. kevin melillo was a pretty good prospect this time last year. now not so much
  11. Ronny and Michael hit solo homers. One of them was an inside the parker.
  12. Chad Gaudin Sorry, I'm doing PBP. I don't know these players and I don't have time to check how to spell it. :P I know. Gaudin's been around awhile. Wait until the seventh inning lol
  13. Nice to see Ronny's thinking its still the VWL playoffs.
  14. viewtopic.php?t=38792
  15. to a team like the yankees, yes. to a team like the royals, no.
  16. Dont link to me to the definition. I know exactly what it is. do i really have to tell you that if a belongs to b, it doesnt mean that b belongs to a? thats league average including relievers and starters...not just starters. And ERAs are always higher for SPs so obviously the league average SP is going to have an ERA+ below 100
  17. it depends on the year, obviously. probably usually in the mid 90s, 94-96.
  18. for the five hundredth time, an ERA+ of 100 is NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT LEAGUE AVERAGE FOR A STARTING PITCHER.
