  1. #2 because those rankings pretty much say if team X played team Y, this team is the favorite. The other sets of rankings are rubbish and Sagarin admits this.
  2. good thing some guy in USA Today's rankings have no actual effect on the real world Except one of his polls is used for the BCS Computer rankings... Florida's top five in all scientific polls that involve SOS and score as well as other things. It should be certain that theyre one of the top five teams in the country.
  3. Kansas sucks. BTW, did you guys see the number 2 in the Sagarin ratings? I'll give you guys a hint: They don't have one or two losses.
  4. Now for the weekly Meph Rankings Rk. W-L Team (Last Week) 1. 10-1 West Virginia (2) 2. 10-1 Missouri (4) 3. 10-2 Louisiana State (1) 4. 9-2 Southern California (8) 5. 10-1 Ohio State (5) 6. 9-3 Florida (6) 7. 10-2 Georgia (7) 8. 9-2 Oklahoma (11) 9. 9-2 Virginia Tech (9) 10. 11-0 Hawaii (15) 11. 9-3 South Florida (17) 12. 9-2 Arizona State (3) 13. 8-3 Illinois (18) 14. 9-3 Tennessee (19) 15. 9-3 Clemson (22) 16. 9-3 Texas (12) 17. 11-1 Kansas (10) 18. 9-3 Cincinatti (21) 19. 8-4 Auburn (24) 20. 8-4 Arkansas (UR) 21. 10-2 Boise State (16) 22. 9-3 Virginia (23) 23. 8-3 Oregon (13) 24. 7-5 Kentucky (UR) 25. 9-2 BYU (UR) Top Five Heisman: 1. 5. That's because they're number one or two, duh.
  6. Our margin of victory over Georgia wasn't enough to make us second best? Too bad. :D Doesn't matter to me how it happened, we have a shot at the SEC title and I fully believe we can beat LSU (though it's hard to say we will). Even if we don't win, it's a good step forward for this team - which will be much, much better next year if we can replace Ainge and find a consistent pass rusher. Unfortunately for the 2008 Volunteers both Georgia and Florida look poised for National Championship runs in '08. They're both going to be preseason top fives and Florida's probably going to be the preseason number one.
  7. Yay the third best team in the SEC East got the bid to the title game. Oh well.
  8. We get it, you love Florida. We know. You don't have to remind us. Over And Over And Over. Maybe if you do, you will accept the truth about how good they are despite their three losses.
  9. I think we've established that: A.) Kansas is not a top ten team, much less a top five. Probably a 15-25 at best team. B.) Florida is a top ten team, probably top six or seven. Mizzou ought to be in the 5-10 range. Honestly, USC or LSU should be #1
  10. The bolded is wrong because when I looked earlier, Tebow had the highes yards per attempt average in the nation. After looking it up and putting in today's stats, Tebow's is 9.86 and White's is 8.01. White also didn't even throw for 1500 yards this year - his single game max was 181 which he got twice - while Tebow went over 3000 and only had one game less than 200. Tebow accounted for nearly 4000 yards this year while White was around 2600. And if you're going to criticize Tebow and leave him off partly because his team is third in their division, you better do the same with McFadden because Arkansas is going to finish fourth in their division. You're right, for some reason I was looking at White's stats for last year in the yards per attempt category. If you average out the yards per attempt for White to include as many attempts as Tebow in passing and running you get roughly the same total yards. Then you get into that whole system/talent debate. Yea they play in the same offense but something has to be said for one qb taking that many more snaps than the other in the comparison. Tim Tebow's more valuable to his offense because he does not have Slaton, although Harvin's fabulous as a runner. He's not a 25 carry guy. Tebow does not run to pad the stats, he runs because he has to. There's a difference.
  11. nice to see kansas playing like kansas now the problem is everyone will think that missouri is good after this game.....and then see them get knocked off by OU setting up the inevitable Ohio State/WVU matchup......which are probably teams #8 and #9 in reality. this year sucks
  12. so fsu over uf eh
  13. LSU is still probably the best team in the nation. Damn SEC schedule. With drives starting on the 25, college overtime is a crapshoot. They need to push it back to say the 50.
  14. ERA+ and OPS+ kill more braincells than Crystal Methistopheles
  15. LSU's rushing attack is better than Illinois'. Are you saying right now that UF will lose to Illinois. Just come out and say it please. You're assuming UF will win this weekend. And that's not going to happen. There's a chance the 'Noles win. Even if they don't they're still going to head the Capital One Bowl. That said, the Gators have to be a ten point favorite at least against FSU. Meyer's nails in home games and nails against rivals.
  16. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3106401 lol espn
  17. the cubs dont have a need to promote him quickly. the nats need all kinds of help at the big league level. poor comparison
  18. there should be scaling towards a team. its value to a team award.
  19. ive explained this a lot... ummm basically win value based on runs output for team. pujols was #1 for the NL you know. well #2 if you include pitchers. (that makes Holliday third)
  20. I know, but Matt Holliday should've been clear enough. I'd give it to Wright easily before Holliday. nah hollidays +10 defense gives him an advantage easily. best player on the best team. best player in the last month while team was unstoppable. shoulda been a slam dunk mvp candidate for the statheads and writers. Its too bad the writers are about as dumb as cardinal fans.
  21. ordonez was the al mvp.
  22. I do what I can. I mean Tim Tebow is superman and transcends threads you know.
  23. Don't punish Daniel because he's actually got some good players around him. And Tebow doesn't? Tebow's got more weapons on the outside than anyone else in the country. The Gators have tons of talent on the outside. Caldwell apparently has gotten some unofficial times under 4.30. Don't read too much into these, other than the Gators are the fastest team in the nation, and that's Meyer's strategy: Speed over everything. 4.24 Percy Harvin, WR (So) 4.28 Deonte Thompson, WR (Fr)* 4.31 Chris Rainey, HB (Fr)* 4.32 Wondy Pierre-Louis, CB (So) 4.34 Joe Haden, CB (So) 4.35 Jarred Fayson, WR (So) 4.35 Louis Murphy, WR (Jr) 4.37 Markus Manson, CB (Jr) 4.39 Andre Caldwell, WR (Sr) 4.39 Riley Cooper, WR (So) 4.40 Emmanuel Moody, HB (So)* 4.41 Jacques Rickerson, CB (Fr) *Hurt/redshirted. Rainey's the guy who beat Noel Devine in the parking lot at Wal-Mart. Brandon James is probably sub 4.40 these days. He's a monster returner you know. I swear the Gators should just have their five fastest wideouts line up. Run as fast s they can and make the opponent match up 5 guys who can stay step by step with them, and then Tim can deliver the ball on the money
  24. That one was bad, but it wasn't monumentally bad. Not nearly as ridiculous as Rollins winning it this year, IMO. Sosa was 7th in VORP that year and a whopping 36 runs worse than McGwire. Cubs made the playoffs, Cardinals didnt? Just trying to look at it how the voters did. Obviously statistically his OBP, SLG, VORP, OPS+ were worse than Big Macs. Is that any different than Rollins winning it over Cabrera, Ramirez and Wright?
