  1. The doubleheader is underway, but there could be rain later on. Daytona strikes for 2 in the first.
  2. According to ITI, Wylie is out for the season after a "freak accident." He was rehabbing at Mesa.
  3. Iowa: LHP Carmen Pignatiello (0-2, 5.40) vs. LHP Eric Stults (2-3, 5.79) West Tenn.: LHP Renyel Pinto (8-2, 2.15) vs. LHP Luke Lockwood (2-5, 3.40) Daytona: RHP Juan Mateo (8-5, 3.63) vs. RHP Danny Muegge (6-2, 3.58) Daytona: LHP J.R. Mathes (8-6, 3.50) vs. LHP Matt Merricks (2-1, 3.91) Boise: RHP Mitch Atkins (1-4, 4.85) vs. RHP Doug Mathis (2-5, 2.73) Mesa: RHP Julio Castillo (0-1, 2.25) vs. ???
  4. Daytona was rained out.
  5. With two outs in the bottom of the ninth, Ramos fielded a safety squeeze but his throw got away from Craig at first. The Diamond Jaxx lose 5-4.
  6. Atlee gives up a ringing 2-run double to Jason Hill to tie the game at 3 in the 8th. Abercrombie coming up. Ugh. McGehee charged a groundball and the throw went under Craig's glove. Hill comes in to score on the E5 and the Mudcats have rallied for 4 runs to take the lead.
  7. Theriot with the diving stop but he can't make the play. Ryu's no-no ends after 4 1/3. Felix is still in Mesa. Ron laughed at Paul's line about Pie being called up on September 1st.
  8. Jaxx up 3-0 after 4 1/2. Ron is going to talk about Sullivan's article on Pie's return after the break...
  9. Yeah. That's his only time to eat and take a quick break.
  10. Bacon ruins Ungs' hopes of repeating the no-no with a leadoff bunt single.
  11. Shocking, I know, but the Trib was wrong. No Pie.
  12. You should rub in the fact that you beat me. Everyone else does! Nice game for Wellemeyer. He went gave up 3 runs (2 earned) in 6 innings on 4 hits and 2 walks while striking out 4. He did surrender a HR, though. JVB had an interesting ninth inning but picked up his 21st save to preserve the 6-5 win.
  13. Looking forward to reading it DJaxx! Thanks. It's up and it's great. Make sure you check it out, everyone!
  14. Awesome stuff. Thanks, Eric, Nathan, and DJAXX!!!
  15. Lee made that one look easy. Impressive.
  16. Had to restart my computer, so this is a tad late, but obviously Corey wasn't going to improve his strike zone in a month at Iowa. Couldn't tell in that AB, but what's important right now is that his swing has improved.
  17. He must've caught Neifi's unluckiness when he pulled his socks up to be like him.
  18. Yeah, there was a tight group of guys on that high school team that busted their @$$es to get where they are today. Hard work breeds hard work. It worked, he's at Northwestern, and Santucci is starting at Notre Dame now. Yup. He's earned it. Randy Walker once asked what the heck was wrong with him because he puts forth so much effort during practices. That'll help Lee's SLG %.
  19. I'm guessing you're from Chicago, so McGarigle? Nice stroke by Lawton. Yep, Tim is a year or two younger than me though. Really nice guy, and one hell of a football player. The nation's top returning tackler. Has a great work ethic, too. Come on, Mark.
  20. I'm guessing you're from Chicago, so McGarigle? Nice stroke by Lawton.
  21. The legs a tad further apart and the hands higher were things that Keller mentioned previously in an article. Looks like he did indeed change those things.
  22. According to the website, he's a 23-year-old (turns 24 in October) 6'3'', 220 pound righty out of Puerto Rico. He signed with the Cubs as a free agent this year. It looks like he was with the Pirates as late as early this season. They selected him in the 35th round of the 2000 draft.
  23. Iowa: RHP Todd Wellemeyer (2-2, 3.02) vs. RHP Scott Erickson (0-1, 11.25) West Tenn.: RHP Jae-kuk Ryu (8-7, 3.44) vs. ??? Daytona: RHP Juan Mateo (8-5, 3.63) vs. ??? Peoria: RHP Sean Gallagher (12-4, 2.24) vs. RHP Michael Schlact (8-5, 4.48) Boise: RHP Michael Hyle (2-4, 2.70) vs. LH David Smith (0-0, 1.21)
  24. Hopefully the fans can be supportive of Corey and redirect their disappointment towards a more deserving figure.
  25. Hey, I was right about something. Corey was taken out of the I-Cubs game after his third hit. A little obvious, but still. And this is too soon. The fans at Wrigley are going to be mighty pissed at the team for the first time and he's just starting to hit at Iowa.
