    I want to be Wannstedt. To be an abject failure as a head coach everywhere you go, but continue to be employed. Amazing. Looks like it'll go to the 4th with Wanny's team down three scores. It's what, week 5? And to think Pitt still won't have a win against a division 1-A team.

    They'd never be able to keep that list up-to-date, though. If the union bumped up the first offense to a month with a thorough appeals process, that'll be plenty for me. Congress' demands are terribly unrealistic and ultimately unfair.

    Rusch tomorrow, Maddux Sunday. If Dusty and the front office hadn't already made me not care about the team, I'd be pissed. First time since early '98 that I haven't been following each and every game. I'm down to about one game every two weeks now.

    They could very well make some other changes (such as advertising) and not announce them until later in the winter.

    That should just about kill the Indians' chances for the division title.

    Indians waste a leadoff double in the 8th in a 1-0 game. They're being shutout by McClung... If they can't come back to win this, the division will pretty much be wrapped up by the White Sox.

    Curtis Granderson hits a walk-off HR in the 9th for Detroit. The Indians head into the final 6-game stretch 2 games behind the White Sox. They host the Devil Rays for 3 and then the White Sox for 3.

    Philmore is back with the team and if Thiry's shoulder is okay, I won't be as depressed going into the PSU game. Basanez had a good quote yesterday: "We need to score. Gosh, it's just so disheartening." Not as good as Joe Tiller, though: "We still play sissy ball at Purdue."

    I know that's unearned, but it's been just about a full month since Zambrano had an above average start. It's been a rough 4 weeks for him.
