  1. Now that was a hit.
  2. TD Nevada. 38-27 with just over a minute left. Down goes Fresno State.
  3. Absolutely horrible playcalling by Stanford. After a pass of 9 to set up a 2nd and 1 situation, they have the backup QB drop back to pass with a struggling offensive line instead of keeping it on the ground to try to pick up the first down. They lose 2 or 3 on that play and go backwards on the next play, as well.
  4. They're opening it up now thanks to a nice defensive effort (minus that bogus three-pointer that was taken two seconds after a whistle for an illegal zone defense). Bulls by 11, late 3rd.
  5. That missed PAT by Notre Dame is the fourth I've seen today. And the third to hit an upright. Yeesh.
  6. Fresno State gets a huge makeup call. The receiver clearly didn't have control of the ball while he was inbounds, but it's ruled a TD. The 2-point conversion gives them a 3-point lead.
  7. Pooch kicks don't get any better than the one Fresno State just executed. They still trail, though. 24-19.
  8. Tied 44-44 at the half. Yao came back in, but we'll see how badly he's injured. They could sure use to come out strong to start the second half.
  9. They need to start collecting some offensive rebounds, though.
  10. Fresno State gets robbed of a TD by the officials and after an unsportsman-like conduct penalty that pushed them out of FG range, they turn it over on downs on 4th and goal. Nevada has a chance to take a 3-score lead before the half.
  11. Fresno State is getting handled early. After a quarter and change, Nevada leads 17-3.
  12. Pie played 7 innings tonight and went 0-3 with an RBI grounder and a strikeout.
  13. Sounds like it was a crazy game. I can only listen in tonight, but great win.
  14. Sweetney has five fouls, Harrington has five fouls, and Chandler has four fouls already. Bulls up 7 late in the 3rd quarter at San Antonio.
  15. Arkansas driving in FG range with a chance to upset LSU. Holy cow. 1st and 10 at the 33 and Arkansas shows why they're not going to a bowl game. They lose one on a run, throw what should have been an interception, and then on third down, they give up the easy sack for a loss of 7. 4th and 18, the offensive line blows it, the QB breaks free, and then chucks it up for the interception. LSU escapes with a 19-17 win. Why the heck did they throw it on second and third downs? You need to get yards on the ground to set up the FG, not give up a dropped would-be interception and a sack. That was terrible play-calling.
  16. I can't recall him recording more than two outs in any one appearance. You'd assume that he just wasn't 100%, but if he wasn't, why was he pitching so much? Without inside info, any guess as to what happened to him is as good as any.
  17. Pie pinch hit in the 5th inning today and went 0-3 with a strikeout. He played LF.
  18. Lovie just said Rex will not play Sunday. He's the #3 QB and won't get in there even if it's a blowout.
  19. Also from the article:
  20. Whatdayaknow? We've got a Pie sighting tonight. He went 2-4 with a walk, a run scored, and a strikeout while batting second in the lineup for Licey.
  21. Looks like the first Bowl matchup is set. The new Poinsettia bowl in pleasant San Diego will host Colorado State and Navy.
  22. Congrats indeed. Too bad he won't even get a guest pass to the Heisman ceremony He really only had one bad-ish game, but the passing attack would have had to have kept it up all year. The drops against Michigan pretty much killed any shot he had at being invited. It was contingent upon him being able to ride the media attention for the last 4 weeks of the season. That just wasn't very likely. Of course, nobody really cares about that. All the focus is on him leading the team to their second ever bowl victory. That and praying for no Detroit.
  23. Congrats to Basanez for being named the Big Ten first team QB. With 36 more yards on the ground, he can become the first 10,000 yards passing/1,000 yards rushing QB in division I-A history.
  24. You're just too stubborn to ask for help. Packers can't help as Edinger delivers one more dagger. NFC North Team W L Chicago 7 3 Minnesota 5 5 Detroit 4 6 Green Bay 2 8
  25. Vedran is amazing, the rest of the team sucked hard tonight. Still a win, I guess.
