  1. Thanks Jon! Do you happen to know why Saturday WGN games are no longer automatics to be on the Superstation? The Pistons game on the 3rd and the Wizards game this Saturday were/are not Superstation telecasts. No idea, but here's a list of all the games being carried on the Superstation. With just a couple of exceptions, starting in late December, they'll carry a Bulls game every weekend.
  2. For the out-of-area Bulls fans, here's a list of games that will be on national TV this month: 12/17 vs. Boston - 7:30 ct on WGN Superstation 12/22 vs. Cleveland - 7:00 ct on TNT 12/31 vs. Pheonix - 6:00 ct on WGN Superstation
  3. And the 'Cats just landed two much desired linebackers in the past couple of days. First Nate Williams from Pittsburgh and now Duke de-commit Quentin Davie. Like last year, December is turning into quite the month for Northwestern in terms of recruiting. Even though we were good last year, this season and the press the team has gotten is starting to have a major impact in landing prospects.
  4. That was cool. Thanks for the link. The only way I'd know of doing that would be to find some free software like AVIScreen to capture the video and then encode it. I'm not sure what video codecs are compatible with the iPod, though. Of course, I'm not even sure if you can capture from Real Player.
  5. 102-93 the final. Bulls win on the road without Hinrich and Chandler and improve their record to 9-8!
  6. What the heck... Three straight turnovers and it's down to a 7 point lead with :27.3 remaining.
  7. And Nocioni hits the dagger. 97-85 with under 2:00 left. Pargo draws the offensive foul. Huge effort from him tonight.
  8. Another huge three for Pargo to extend the lead to 8 with 4:00 left.
  9. Yeah, thankfully. He's wearing one of those sleeves on his knee, though. Pargo with a nice three for the corner! 64-59 Bulls.
  10. No Hinrich, no Chandler (upset stomach), and now the Bulls could be without Gordon for the second half. He injured his knee right before the first half ended.
  11. I doubt it, but you never know. Unless his performance has really been hampered by his heart condition, from all that I've seen, he just isn't that good. He doesn't fit at all in the Princeton offense and is unable to do anything in one-on-one situations. And he shoots 50% or worse from the charity stripe. Last year, he missed a lot of time with a foot injury. He supposedly worked really hard this offseason to learn the offense, but he never really got out of the gate. He played just two or three games before the heart condition forced him to the sidelines. Still feel bad for him, of course. He left Duke to get playing time and quickly lost that to Vince Scott, a guy who has absolutely no presence in the paint. There was plenty of speculation that he wasn't going to last on the team that long, anyways. As long as this doesn't threaten him outside of the basketball court, at least he's getting a free education. It's certainly not how he envisioned his college career coming out of high school, though. EDIT: The team issued a press release saying that Thompson is no longer on the team. They did not mention any reason, though. The Pioneer Press broke the story on his heart condition today.
  12. Hendry paying compliments to Cedeno means absolutely nothing to me. He did the same last year and brought him up for an extended period of time knowing full well that he'd just waste away on the bench. Jim gave Neifi a 2-year contract for a reason and that wasn't to start in Cedeno's spot 30 times a season. Dusty isn't the only reason that a guy likes Neifi Perez gets playing time over a talented rookie.
  13. If only he knew what he was talking about during the season when they should have shut him down.
  14. Sad news on Michael Thompson. What was publicly being called a mystery flu is now being reported as an irregular heartbeat that could end his basketball career.
  15. However, I don't think the Cubs would play Pie in RF. Well that would make me throw up in my mouth. I can sorta see the reasoning behind Hendry giving multi-year deals to guys coming off career years, but a guy coming off a bad, bad season? That idea shouldn't even be entertained. I mean again.
  16. If what's currently being reported (3 for 1) is true, the Marlins sure look to be getting a very good deal. Hopefully there will be room in the rotation for Mitre. Pretty disappointed with this deal as it stands now. But hey. Maybe the Cubs will win the World Series in 2006 and Pierre will get waaaay too much credit for the success of a struggling offense like Podsednik did.
  17. Anyone have any preference to how we do the bowl threads. Should there be a single thread for all of the bowls or separate ones for each?
  18. Looks like I'm late to the party. Did Kaplan announce the re-signing of Raul Valdes?
  19. Well this is interesting. With Grady Little becoming the new manager of the Dodgers, that makes two members of the front office leaving. Thanks, John.
  20. Pie did not have an AB on Saturday night, but went 0-3 with a strikeout Sunday night. Roberto Novoa went .2 IP, giving up 3 runs (2 earned) on 2 hits, a walk, and 2 strikeouts. They did not play Monday night.
  21. The Favre, the? I've watched that hit at least 50 times already. Hahaha, yeah I've gotten the Favre, the comment a few times already. I personally dont know which hit I liked better, the Tillman hit in the back, or the Mike Brown hit from the front; both were equally awesome. I really cant remember the last time I've ever seen Favre getting destroyed like that. Good win, now lets go beat the Steelers. I couldn't help it. I have no control over that part of my brain. Sadly I missed the Brown hit when I was getting highlights and already taped over the game.
  22. The Favre, the? I've watched that hit at least 50 times already.
  23. They were Chicago Stags (1946-1950) throwbacks. The NBA has something called the "Hardwood Classics" program, so that's why they wore them. Of course, they looked especially bad considering Dallas didn't wear throwbacks. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/1/13/Chis1.gif
  24. The BCS computer rankings are not, but since SOS is a big part of all of the computer rankings, I posted that when I couldn't find anything else. But the second link I posted is SOS. That one has Oregon at 49, Notre Dame at 53, and USC at 59. Of course, if you're USC, you obviously can't play yourself to help out your SOS. But that gives at least a bit of a reference point.
  25. Here ya go: http://cbs.sportsline.com/collegefootball/polls/bcs I also found this link. Not sure how reliable it is, though: http://teamrankings.com/ncf/27powerratings.php3 They rank Oregon at 49 and Notre Dame at 53. By the way, look closely at the teams around Northwestern (13). Notice anything other than there are a lot of Big Ten teams up there? They're the only team going to a bowl game out of the top 22.
