I doubt it, but you never know. Unless his performance has really been hampered by his heart condition, from all that I've seen, he just isn't that good. He doesn't fit at all in the Princeton offense and is unable to do anything in one-on-one situations. And he shoots 50% or worse from the charity stripe. Last year, he missed a lot of time with a foot injury. He supposedly worked really hard this offseason to learn the offense, but he never really got out of the gate. He played just two or three games before the heart condition forced him to the sidelines. Still feel bad for him, of course. He left Duke to get playing time and quickly lost that to Vince Scott, a guy who has absolutely no presence in the paint. There was plenty of speculation that he wasn't going to last on the team that long, anyways. As long as this doesn't threaten him outside of the basketball court, at least he's getting a free education. It's certainly not how he envisioned his college career coming out of high school, though. EDIT: The team issued a press release saying that Thompson is no longer on the team. They did not mention any reason, though. The Pioneer Press broke the story on his heart condition today.
