  1. 111-108 the final. Wasn't the prettiest of endings, but the Bulls make it three in a row.
  2. That sequence of Hinrich to Gordon to Wallace to Deng for the dunk was pretty. Are the Bulls trying to see how quickly they can chuck up shots with a single digit lead and less than 2 minutes left now?
  3. No way this can happen. To get a record low you generally need calm winds and clear skies. Chicago won't have either. But yeah, it's gonna be darn cold for that game. A record low high temp, that is. Tommie Harris returned to practice today, but it appears as if Leon Joe and Todd Johnson are not expected to play.
  4. TWC and the NWS aren't predicting this, but Skilling believes that we could see record lows on Sunday, as in a high of 15 and a low of 1. There is also a chance of flurries. As for the Bears/Bucs game in a couple of weeks, FOX is thinking about moving it to 3:15 instead of airing the Eagles/Giants game then (for obvious reasons). They would also bring the Fox pregame show crew to Soldier Field. Note to Fox, please don't. I have tickets to the game and want the noon start. Plus, keep Buck away from this team.
  5. Tommie Harris was added to the injury report as probably with soreness in his knee. He's expected to play. Thomas Jones was removed from the injury report, but Todd Johnson is still questionable and Leon Joe is still doubtful. The Vikings' Pat Williams was downgraded to doubtful.
  6. The suspension didn't come at a bad time for Manning Jr. His wife gave birth to a baby boy two weeks ago. Maybe that was part of the reason to not appeal, especially since his family lives in California.
  7. Aside from the last couple of minutes and craptacular FT shooting (11 for 20), NU looked pretty solid tonight. They really controlled the game well and only gave up one fast break the entire night.
  8. Moore realized he can shoot! NU up by 6 with the ball. Very sound game for them aside from a string of a few turnovers. They have only allowed one fast break all game.
  9. Pie has made strides. I think Patterson is much closer to his ceiling than Pie is right now - the question is will Pie get to his ceiling or not? I am not convinced Patterson is a better player right now but I think he is probably slightly less likely to collapse in the majors than Pie. As far as I know I think both are potential leadoff hitters. Does this mean in a couple of years Soriano gets moved to 5 spot? Pie definitely isn't a leadoff hitter. Unlike that Alfonso Soriano guy.
  10. Todd Johnson had an MRI taken on his ankle and it supposedly went well. He shouldn't be out long.
  11. He's already been through that a handful of times this season already.
  12. So do i. But the Patriots are a superior team to the Jets. To win a SB, we have to find a way to counter what these elite teams throw at us defensivly. I don't think the Patriots are that much better than the Jets. And the Jets did win at NE. I didn't like what they did against the Jets because they overcompensated too much. But at least Turner realized that. We can worry about a SB if they get there. The Bears won't face any elite teams before that point and certainly none on the road. They have time to improve what they do and not worry about adjusting to the competition. That will only make them better if the do face a good team in the SB.
  13. It's also worth noting that the last time Angelo met with Rosenhaus to talk a few weeks ago, Briggs didn't even come up.
  14. Bingo. Let's see how they look next week before pushing the panic button. They did a nice job coming back after the Miami loss. Did we really expect them to go undefeated; to sweep 3 straight East Coast roadies? Grossman has his issues; but let's wait and see. Agreed again. The Grossman haters will ride hard this week, but really, what can you accomplish by playing Greise? Greise was there as a BACKUP in case Grossman got hurt. Until that time I would be very disappointed with the coaching staff if they listened to the talk radio junk and benched Grossman. Grossman is the future, and he's showed a hell of a lot of promise in his first full year. We took down two tough New York teams, and lost to one of the best teams in the NFL, and a 3 time Superbowl QB. Their defense is stellar, and they were playing at home. I'm not saying there weren't things that went wrong, but I'm very far from the panic button. Preach it. Seconded He showed a lot of promise his first 5 weeks, and since then has mostly sucked Those 4th quarter stats they flashed tonight for him were kind of not good. He didn't play/didn't have to try in the 4th quarter of five of those games. Against Minnesota, he still led the winning TD drive. Against Arizona, he was in gunslinger mode (partly a fault of the play calling). Agianst Miami, he had no choice but to put it up in the air at the end. He then played well against the Giants and wasn't given the opportunity to play well against the Jets (but didn't play poorly). And then this game.
  15. NFC standings: 2006 CONFERENCE STANDINGS NFC W L T PCT PF PA STRK DIV CONF Chicago 9 2 0 .818 295 137 Lost 1 3-0 7-0 New Orleans 7 4 0 .636 276 241 Won 1 4-1 6-1 Dallas 7 4 0 .636 309 198 Won 3 1-3 4-3 Seattle 6 4 0 .600 203 219 Lost 1 3-1 5-3 Carolina 6 5 0 .545 189 190 Lost 1 3-1 4-4 NY Giants 6 5 0 .545 245 232 Lost 3 3-0 5-2 The Bears are still sitting pretty for home field advantage, especially since the Bears hold the tie-breaker right now over all of the other teams (either head-to-head or conference record).
  16. Tommie Harris, Tillman, and Vasher haven't exactly been making it an easy decision for Angelo lately, though.
  17. Can you explain why he won't be around next year for those of us who don't follow the Bears as close as you do? Negotiations broke down after he stood by his demands for Urlacher money.
  18. In terms of Rex, let's also not forget the non-calls on the PIs in the first half. The fumble really hurt, but I'd put that under the "one of those things" category. I don't think it's part of a larger problem, especially considering his wrist injury.
  19. At this stage, block better and become a better rec. out of the backfield. Imo, he's a better blocker than Jones already. At contact, they're pretty close, as far as knowing which guy to pick up and when to chip a guy, I think Jones has a better concept when to leak out of the backfield. I agree that Jones has a better concept of what to do...but his execution is lacking compared to Benson and Benson is starting to pick up the intricacies a lot more. Jones will never run over a safety like Benson did on that one run. Benson appears to have more burst coming through the line too. Jones is shifty, but he has never had a 2nd gear. IMO, the quicker we can go 100% Benson, the better we are going to be in the running game. No offense to TJ because I appreciate what he has done, but Benson is the superior back. Even on nice runs where he gets some open space, there's still way too much dancing. It's like he doesn't have the ability to just turn it on and head up field.
  20. I'm starting to worry about Grossman too because he has had mechanical problems for a few weeks and it doesn't appear to be improving. At this point, I don't trust the coaching staff at all. The last adjustments he made when this came up seemed to work. Let's not forget that he was throwing the ball with an injured wrist. They've got five weeks against some bad teams. They can't afford to lose HFA, but that shouldn't be an issue.
  21. The Bears have 5 weeks against some weak offenses to repair this defense. They can't rely on turnovers, especially ones that shouldn't have been made. I'm more worried about that and the coaching (mostly the RB situation) than Grossman.
  22. Well that was just a stupid play call at the end. Defense sucked hard aside from the turnovers. Coaching blew almost as hard as the refs.
  23. What the hell are you doing, Tillman.
