  1. He wouldn't be a lottery ticket...Even with his decline at the end of the year he still was one of the best players in the American League I'm talking about taking chances on guys like Hamilton or Quentin before they explode at the majors. Quentin was no lottery ticket ... he was a top notch prospect that didn't have a position in Arizona. Hamilton, for that matter, was a top notch prospect as well, but we all know why he didn't pan out in the beginning.
  2. I hope they find this player and charge him for vandalism. What a disgrace.
  3. The way I understand it is if you chose the print at home option, your credit card will automatically be refunded minus any fees. yeah, I skimmed it too quickly the first time. I think that's right. Where are you folks interpreting this from? I don't see any language that leads me to believe there are automatic refunds available for individual tickets printed at home. My print-at-home NLCS tickets last year were automatically refunded minus fees.
  4. A payroll bump to get more talent? This year's team was the best team in the NL. If next year's team got 110 wins, they'll still just be as likely to get swept in the first round.
  5. So this is what it looks like when the better team wins in the postseason.
  6. He'll magically attain some young, productive, and exciting players?
  7. You know you're terrible when you're a professional baseball player and you need to wear a nametag during spring training: http://www.chron.com/photos/2008/02/19/13376438/260xStory.jpg
  8. This is a non-story. Guillen has to worry about the White Sox first. Why should he care about the Cubs?
  9. I'm wondering how this year will affect attendence figures next year. After being spoon fed "team of destiny" and "this is the year" slogans all season, and having the postseason end so abruptly and painfully without a single moment to cherish two years in a row now, have fans finally had enough? As painful as the end of 2003 was, I think fans showed up for 2004 was because there were some great wins during the 2003 postseason. This is not true at all for the last two years.
  10. We could also change things up by no one posting on this board 'til the game on saturday but lol that's really impossible for any of us. But, i like your idea of changing things up. Come on people let's get the suggestions rolling in.. Yeah, mostly I'm just tired of reading the plentiful negative posts during these last two games. I think it would benefit us all if we just took some time off during the game and not post.
  11. I propose we don't have a game thread for Game 3. Let's bring some good karma by changing things up.
  12. Alexei Ramirez walks?!?!!
  13. Key word "could". People kill other people and "could" get life in jail, but we know that doesn't always happen. I'm guessing he'll get a few days in jail and have to do a lot of community service.
  14. Have I mentioned how annoying I find the word "ribbies"? If not, let me do so now: I find the word "ribbies" highly annoying.
  15. And they're not playing in a home park that knocks all their homers down. Decent start to the postseason career for Evan Longoria. Decent? LOL, he only has a 5.000 OPS.
  16. Billingsley has a 4.91 ERA this year against the Cubs (11 IP). At this point, I'll take something like that tomorrow.
  17. You mean the guy in right center who did the cabbage patch after he caught them? That's the guy ... he caught HR balls during the first two games of the Yankees/White Sox series. He then wore a bright yellow Homer Simpson t-shirt during the third game to make sure he stood out on TV.
  18. Yeah, that's the guy on TV who caught those HR balls at Yankee Stadium.
  19. I wonder how much money this start cost Dempster.
  20. Win tomorrow and it's a whole new series.
  21. It actually sorta calms me down to see Greg Maddux.
  22. On the bright side, if we get swept, we'll have Sabathia next year.
  23. Normally that Fontenot single would excite me, but then I remember Soriano is on deck.
  24. Or maybe cause ticket prices got so out of hand that only the wine and cheese crowd could afford to go.
