    I totally believe in a curse now. I used to think it was a bunch of hooey. NNow... Its the only logical explanation for why the Cubs can't get in, but all our frick rivals can.

    No, its because of a combination of things. This is just the last straw. The 'Cards were well on thier way to starting a good streak of post-season futility themselves (25 years), and they're now on the verge of winning it all. The Sox won it all last year. TThe Red Sox the year before, and the spectacular Cubs collapse the previous year. When is it our turn to win it all? And now, the team has a new problem. Suppose we win it all one year. We will keep hearing the mantra of "Ooo. 1 WS victory in 125 years!" (FYI, I think the Cubs futility streak goes on for 25 more years), unless the Cubs become a dominant force for years to come.

    IIRC, the Cards last wone the series about a few years after the last time KC won it all.

    While true, what are the odds of the Tigers pulling it off? About the same as the Cubs winning it all before 2008.

    This is a serious question that I am curious about... After seeing the success of the Cards, Sox and Red Sox the last several years, and seeing the total suckage of the cubs over what will surely get to 100 years, do you actually get depressed?
