    I really admire Wood's loyalty to the team..They said he had offers on the table from 3 or 4 other teams for 2 years for 5-6 million a year..Hopefully he can do what he did last year again.

    Rumor Shot down per Rotoworld The Rays say there's nothing to the rumors that have Carl Crawford going to the Cubs or being involved in a three-team deal with the Yankees and Brewers. Talks with the Cubs had reportedly involved Rich Hill and Eric Patterson. The Rays would want a very good young pitcher in a deal for Crawford. Unlike with the Marlins and Miguel Cabrera, there are no financial issues in play here. Source: Bradenton Herald

    Just browsing through message boards and seen this.... Apparently, Tampa Bay radio stations are reporting the deal is close and that the Cubs would get Crawford for Hill, Cedeno, and Marmol.

    Did anyone else har Bruce Levine say that the Cubs are puting together a package for Crawford? Its on mlbtraderumors.com A trusted reader dropped me a line regarding a Bruce Levine appearance on ESPN Radio 1000. Remember, Levine was the guy who scooped the Jacque Jones trade. Levine reported today that the Cubs are putting together a package of young talent in an attempt to acquire the Rays' Carl Crawford. That would leave the Cubs with a speedy, athletic outfield of Alfonso Soriano, Felix Pie, and Crawford. The emailer says today's report did not mention names. Ronny Cedeno would certainly be a useful addition for the Rays, and you'd have to expect some premium pitching heading over as well. I'm thinking Rich Hill, Carlos Marmol, or both. The problem with these proposed blockbuster deals is they often open up new holes. Thoughts?

    I have a feeling this is going to be the Furcal situation all over again..Hendry invsted all his time and everything into Furcal then when he signed elsewhere that just killed him when he couldn't get it done. Puting all his eggs in one basket.Seems lik he's doing that again with Fukudome. He has to get this done. Edited by a mod to fix spelling of Fukudome.

    Rotoworld According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the Twins are close to acquiring Craig Monroe from the Cubs. The newspaper reports that the deal could become official as soon as Tuesday, with the Cubs said to be getting a player to be named later. Monroe made $4.8 million in 2007 and is set to get a raise in arbitration, which makes him overpriced given his career 749 OPS, which includes a weak .303 on-base percentage. Monroe could see regular at-bats while splitting time with Jason Kubel between left field and designated hitter.

    According to the Detroit Free Press, the Tigers and Cubs are close to swapping Jacque Jones for Omar Infante. An announcement is expected to come as soon as Monday. Jones is set to make $5.5 million in the final year of his contract and would likely play left field for the Tigers, giving them a left-handed bat and improving their defense. Serisouly,what in the hell is Hendry thinking, how many crappy infielders does he want? Its just sad how stupid this guy is

    Seriously, Is Hendry on drugs? If thousands of people disagree with you and say it's a bad signing or target, Why in the blue hell do you go after the guy? We already are stacked in the infield anyway..He has to be the stupiest GM of all time. You don't win a world series by adding Kaz Freakin Matsui to the team..Im about to throw my monitor out the window at work after reading this garbage. I HATE YOU HENDRY
