  1. Good thing starting work at 12 tommarrow..looks like a night with a 12 pack and reloading NSBB every minute.
  2. Exactly..He hasn't done anything for us since he's been here. Always hurt or was never that effective when he was healthy..Might be a bullpen guy down the line, thats about it..But you gotta trade him if its for Peavy
  3. what a friggin joke it will be if they don't want to make this trade if it's because they dont want to trade Marshall,Fontenot or whoever.
  4. lol..huge signing..Looks like they dont need Cedeno The Orioles are closing in on signing Cesar Izturis, according to the Baltimore Sun.
  5. I wish they looked at Theriot the way we look at DeRosa and take him instead.
  6. If this ever gets done I think I will tarp up my basement like the locker rooms after clinching and have a celebration with goggles and beer showers
  7. Towers has said that it's all up to Jim now from his quotes yesterday and today, What's keeping him from pulling the trigger and being hesitant? Towers seems to want to get this done asap. Usually Hendry is real quick when it comes to getting a caliber player such as Peavy. There's nothing to indicate a deal is in place... just that Towers has said there's a group of players he'd accept. Hendry still would have to negotiate with other teams to acquire those players (most likely, find a package to acquire the right prospects from Philly) It's not as simple as "pulling the trigger" Ya I know..It's only day 2 of the meetings but all this talk and hearing its on the verge of being done or " very close " then saying it's not close is a rollercoaster ride and just makes you want to get this done before something happens and the whole thing is off like the Roberts fiasco. Marquis is probably a factor thats making this difficult since they really want and need to dump his contract.

  9. Yeah, plus use him out of the pen in long relief. Eating $4M seems more reasonable as it still clears $6M, but eating $6M seems crazy, especially if it doesn't hinder us signing someone like Bradley. Remember when he cried and complained that he wouldn't accept anything other than being a starter? So that won't work
  10. Whoever is going to be owner better OK any move..Thats why I wanted Cuban to buy the team since money wouldn't be a factor and he'd go balls out and sign anyone..Any owner should know ahead that it's all about winning and they are expected from everyone to spend and do whatever it takes to win us a world series
  11. Bruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuce An update would be splendid, if he gets a chance
  12. I swear I'm going to cry and call 2 weeks off work if this does not happen. He's practically begging to come here.
  13. Towers is basically serving this on a platter to Jim to get this done. The ball is in Hendrys court and all he has to do is sign. Im pretty confident he'll get it done, but if he doesn't I cant imagine what a friggin letdown and disappointment that would be since Towers has been so open about this as is basically saying " here take him, its up to you now".
  14. Damn Marquis and his stupid contract and his big nose for holding things up.Someone please take him
  15. For the love of god,get this done Hendry, when your involved with trading for one of the top 5 pitchers in MLB,you pull the damn trigger, whoever you have to trade..Please do get this done
  16. I just want this to get done so bad so I can feel relieved and have that amazing feeling of having the most nasssty rotation in baseball.
  17. Nothing serious? I thought they were having serious discussions and Peavy was on the verge of being dealt the way everyones talking.. :x
  18. I would be thrilled if he can just get those two moves done of Peavy and a LF middle bat ( Abreu,Ibanez ) Then get rid of Marquis and whatever other small moves he has to do
  19. My God the Hawks are horrible at shootouts. It's basically an automatic loss when they go to it since no one can make any moves or make a damn shot..I would hate being in the playoffs and going to a shootout knowing before hand that wed lose
  20. I wish Hendry would trade Marquis and the whole Triple A team to Texas for Josh Hamilton
  21. Just the latest on Roto..I hope to God that last source is right. Two Cubs sources told the Sun-Times that the Cubs still are interested in Jake Peavy, with one saying he expects a deal to get done. There's been talk that the Cubs don't have the ability to do the deal with ownership still up in the air, but it looks like they could boast a $140 million payroll anyway, giving them the flexibility they'd need. Such a plan would likely involve trading Jason Marquis, even if a portion of his $9.875 million salary had to be eaten. Source: Chicago Sun-Times
  22. Im just sayin as an example...I do not like him,but I accept him..Theres quite a few people on here that feel the same way and people on here that love him..Howry is on a whole different level though. thank god hes gone
  23. All I had to do is look at the title of the thread and say " hell no " ..The guy is getting payed wayyy more than he's worth and yet he whines and cries about everything. He's a typical A-hole New Yorker...He had those few moments when he actually surprised me and put aside my dislike for the guy like during that Giants game against Lincenum but other than that he's one of those guys you have to accept being a Cub but cannot stand.. See : Theriot and Howry
