  1. Sounds about right. And the Brewers have a threat in the 9th thanks to an error. 4-3 Brewers... 1 out...top of the 9th.
  2. Dbacks tie Brewers with a Upton homer in the bottomof the 8th. 3-3.
  3. Well, if that's the case it's much less than I thought it would take to get him. I honestly didn't think the Cubs would even be in contention prospectwise. Even though I like Gallagher, it would be too tough to pass up, imo.
  4. C'mon Theriot...Fontenot got on. http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j163/Niner74/CubsCajunConnection2.jpg
  5. i think it's a guarantee. might be down in 4th or 5th. Cubs demoted to the minors, a la soccer. ah yes, relegation. we could be playing the st. paul saints in our first series out of the all star break. Who would Bill Murray root for?
  6. He turned the wrong way making it more difficult.
  7. He threw a 2 hit complete game against the Cubs in 2005. Lee did homer in that game. Cubs lost that one 2-1.
  8. Connor Jackson homers. 7-5 Brewers in the bottom of the 5th.
  9. How many pitches for Marquis that inning?
  10. The Braves, Angels, Rays, Red Sox, Marlins, Rangers, Diamondbacks, and Dodgers all come to mind. I like the prospects in Milwaukee's organization a bit more than those teams mentioned. Although, I do happen to like some of the Rangers prospects also. If the Rangers wanted him, I'm sure a package built around some of their young hitters like Max Ramirez would be very attractive. I'm not sure if the Rangers will choose to go that route. I agree. I added that I don't think they would do a deal. But, beyond Ramirez I would look at Beaven.

Although, I do happen to like some of the Rangers & Rays prospects also. But, I don't see the Rangers or Rays doing a deal for Sabathia.
  12. Are there any realistic multi-team deals the Cubs could get in on to increase their chances? I don't know. It's not that the Brewers are better matched, they are just stacked in the minor leagues. The Cubs don't have a single prospect with the value of LaPorta and probably not one that comes close to Gamel either. If the Brewers decide to do whatever it takes, they will win this derby. Now, if the Brewers are hesitant to offer the top goods, the Cubs might outbid them. There might be other teams in this derby with more minor league resources than both Mil and the Cubs. What are you trying to say? I was wondering too. Since I don't think there is any team that would/could be interested that could match what Milwaukee could offer and that would include a deal that doesn't involve LaPorta or Gamel.
  13. brian sabean is the GM of the team he roots for... that's punishment enough Is your boss old? Sabean might sign him.
  14. Nobody like the giants to make us feel better Barry Zito just what the doctor ordered.
