  1. if i were hendry id start bringin up some propects to see what they can do, it wouldnt hurt anything are there any good 1b, 2b or SS prospects?? They could move Cedeno to 2b, if they have a competent SS prospect. Jones isn't playing too bad actually, and they're not going to sit Pierre. we could try eric patterson to see what he can do, brandon sing? i dont know much about him though They might not be ready but they pulled Murton up and he did well, maybe they can perform decently, they sure as hell cant be any worse than what we have now, at very most he would be a upgrade on defense over hairston and neifi Patterson's numbers are down a bit so far, and I doubt bringing him up would be a smart move. Sing has been, well, look at the numbers (184/311/342/653). Murton's advantage was that he got ready in someone else's organization and had relatively consistent success everywhere he went. It wasn't a stretch to believe he could do it at the big league level. Right now, I don't think the Cubs have any position players that can instill that same sort of confidence in management, except possibly Coats. pattersons numbers may be down but his defense would most likely be much better than that of neifi and hairston, they are both bench players at the very best. why we keep bynum is beyond me also
  2. yes, some guys have sucked, but lee's absence could trim a run or two per game. that's a lot! if we were scoring, this would be as bad but we cant even hit the ball to get a run
  3. Well whats going on now really dosent back your statement up, with the exception of 1 game (sunday at St louis) we have been hard pressed to get a hit let alone a run Lee if nothing else provided protection and we were scoring when he was there, now thats not the case hell if we had 1 run in this game, we wouldve won it
  4. wouldnt it be great if we could take the 84 sandberg and put him at second, the 87 dawson and put him in RF, the 2003 Lofton and put him in center

  7. we already lost this game, Padres 2 cubs 0
  8. Tell us what it was like, Grandpa. we had a very hard time scoring runs, we had lost out best offensive threat to a freak accident a week or so before. Juan Pierre came in to score in the first inning. then jock jones got doubled off 2nd with the bases loaded killing a great rally, the pirates then scored on a infield single by joe randa. then the 8th inning came and matt murton hit the ball just out of the reach of jack wilson, jerry hairston came around to score. Ryan dempster came in to close down the pirates. it was great
  9. Homeruns made us too one-dimensional. I know because Joe Morgan said so. Now we have more ways to not score. LOL! Sadly, Joe Morgan wasn't the only one who bought into that line of thinking. So did lots of Cub fans. But remember, speed kills! to bad speedy juany cant hit the ball past the mound
  10. too bad worrying about what other teams are doing is the last thing this team should worry about
  11. i was there the last time the cubs won a game
  12. This is what my lineup would be for tomorrow 1 Cedeno 2 peirre (can bunt Cedeno over cause thats all he is good for) 3 Matt Murton 4 Todd Walker 5 Ramirez 6 jock jones 7 Barrett 8 hairston 9 marshall
  13. something to the effect is coming to the game tomorrow is the only thing you can do with a totally disgusted tone
  14. Yep, just think we got rid of ricky nolasco for the POS
  15. you cant blame ramirez for most anything, Pierre really blown the big chances in this one you have to be kidding. yes pierre has sucked tonight, but ramirez is paid $11 million. .198 is god awful. .198 isint good but its not like he was on fire early the last 2 seasons either.
  16. 198 says it all. till he hits 400 one month and ends up with a avg over 300 then you will be like oh lets keep him, hes so good
  17. you cant blame ramirez for most anything, Pierre really blown the big chances in this one
  18. for the love of all things sacred, just hit a single, hit it hard and have it find a hole
  19. im willing to bet its bad management, seriously larry rothschild dosent seem like the best choice for this group couldve tried to get Mazzone, the best in the game but hendry was loyal to a subpar pitching coach
  20. you didnt, i wasant even replying to you. The cubs need a big bat right now, someone to protect Aram. thats part of his problem, he is getting nothing to hit really. The cubs have the potential to have a great pitching staff if they can stay healthy. it sure wouldve been nice if we had Vlad right now when he wanted to come to chicago in 2004.
  21. hats off to the az pitching staff its not like they were good, we were just that bad
