  1. ha i just posted this in the game day thread for today
  2. Derrek Lee just said that he is planning on coming back around June 10, no joke it was on WGN
  3. "back handed truthfullness"? it sounded more like a cards fan ripping on cubs players a lot of it is true but you have to look deeper than this guy to find the truth Zambrano "failed to step up as a leader" cards fans just hate him, he threw a great game against them back in april
  4. i dont listen to brenley, i prefer the radio but when i do, he is a lot like stoney in the fact that he says what is about to happen and sure enough it happens. i wonder why Dusty cant figure that out. He might not be as opinonated as stoney was but lets face it, he dosent want to rock the boat because he wants that job.
  5. Ginos east, get the deep dish sheet sausage Lou Malnattis Giordannos both Uno & Due suck
  6. Pat and Ron brought up a good point with players that goes for managers also When times are good and you are winning, no one notices that you have gone 1-26 and havent made contact in 4 straight games. The giants had good teams so the spotlight was never really bright on dusty, his mistakes never were magnified because the teams were usually winning
  7. he could say "we really suck right now, there is no excuse but that" "we cant hit the ball and when we do hit the ball the pitching fails"
  8. Righttttt. Like we'd want a guy with a career .276 winning percentage. what are we doing with a manager with a winning percetage over 500? Brenley has this, a World Series ring, Baker dosent http://img435.imageshack.us/img435/7748/acfef68ch.jpg
  9. You could have checked. Link Have no fear... ...Ryan Theriot is here "He'll be the offensive savior, just as Michael Restovich was to have been. Theriot will get some AB's at second because Neifi Perez can't hit and Jerry Hairston can't think. Which one of those guys was the team trying to dump this off-season? Oh, wait they wanted those two, that's righT"
  10. i can only see bad things in this game 1, the pitcher almost no hit us in 2004 and kept us in check in 2005 (we ended up winning once in their bullpen) 2, you dont want to be the team and pitcher that gives up 714 and 715, Hill cant find the strike zone and if he hangs one, bye bye babe
  11. Cabrera already is great. i wouldnt put him at the same level as a Pujlos yet but he is close
  12. I agree but i highly doubt Hendry would do that If Aram did stay, maybe he would go to 2nd base because Walker wont be back i dont think after what happened in the spring :? I think it would be much more likely for Miggy to move to a corner outfield spot. id keep murton and hendry wont get rid of jock 1 year into a 3 year deal it would be a scary lineup if the baseball gods shined on us Pie Cedeno Lee Cabera Aram Murton Barrett jones 2nd base pitcher unfortunately i think any deal involving Miggy will probably have to include Murton-he's young with success at the ML level making the minimum- Id hate it, but for Miggy Cabrera i would let "money" go - Guzman+Murton+R.Hill+Harvey? Cabera has the potential to be great so id do it
  13. I agree but i highly doubt Hendry would do that If Aram did stay, maybe he would go to 2nd base because Walker wont be back i dont think after what happened in the spring You're joking right? Aram at second base would be a disaster. i meant cabera
  14. Thats why he has added 25 points to his AVG since this weekend?, only idiots thought he would stay cold all season Aram would get good money wherever he went, a decent 3rd baseman that hits for power and average for 10 million, or whatever he is going to make next year, I am not so sure that other teams will shell out that kind of money for a guy that can't play a full season and doesn't always show the desire you like to see in a guy you are paying that much money to, well maybe the Red Sox, but they already have Manny, and Aramis is no Manny. You dont think other teams outside of the red soxs would give more money for a guy who hits 300, 30+ home run, OBP at or above 350 and around 100Rbis in a year that would be typical though, go get rid of someone who has been consistent and get someone who was good 3 years ago and hope he turns out to be that player again ( Jock and Pierre, no we didnt get rid of CF or RF) I never said anything about getting rid of him. I simply made the point that UNLESS he picks it up he will have a difficult time getting a contract that guarantees him more than what he will already make next year. last year as late as May 25th he had a avg at .226, he ended over 300

  16. id rather have his right fielder, if we could trade dusty for scioscia and vlad id do it in a second ha

  18. unless the cubs blow them out, then it would be kinda fun

Not sure he's going to approach those numbers this year. We'll see. It's a more difficult lineup to hit in than he's used to. Well---not since his Pittsburgh days anyway. on May 25th of last year, he was hitting .226, i dont see any reason barring injury for that to change

  22. 2 bad starts and we are throwing him under the bus already. it didnt help any that he was squeezed in the first innings and Pierre throws the ball over the cut off man.
  23. He shouldve of but instead he puts Bynum in
  24. The Astros started last season 4-36 and turned things around. We can do it, too. is it possible? yes but major changes are going to be needed to get there
