  1. brb gotta go flame jesse rogers for having a dirty screen
  2. taking a picture of a computer screen to post something on twitter should be illegal
  3. This is the [expletive] reason I love me some Joe Maddon. This is the perfect lineup for this game. Defense will win this game. Doesn't really surprise me one bit. Javy as Jon's personal 3B is almost as locked in as Rossy as his personal C except javy is at 2b
  4. hey guys and gals it's me, your good friend seanimal. i'd just like to say i preciate cha and would like thank you in advance for ignoring all of the stupid things i might say in the heat of the moment over the course of our next 11 wins go cubs
  5. Not to mention, like, 588 runs saved with their framing. abuck rn http://i.imgur.com/0mKXcg1.gif
  6. because i imagine the list of cubs with sub-2.00 era's is too long for their purposes, considering the franchise dates back to when all baseball players were 4'5" malnourished leprechauns with stale french bread loaves for bats
  7. this is the right answer
  8. holy horsefeathers lol
  9. you guys are kidding right? just make fun of tony robbins or whatever and this guy's head rips off like so much volleyball
  10. i'm invoking my FULL KYLE rights here and insisting that he put his slider on ice and by the way it's not my job to educate you on the facts and good luck proving me wrong empirically
  11. i like that it's not totally clear what you find more remarkable: whether jake would put his deadliest pitch on ice for a couple of months or that kyle was right to think that out loud
  12. http://www.reactiongifs.com/r/dstfp.gif
  13. umm what is he doing?
  14. eh, i just think that heyward isn't the swing doctor like some of these guys (rizzo, bryant, etc.) and the cubs wrecked him with the adjustments in an attempt to get him to get the ball in the air more. at this point i've convinced myself he's more likely to have his best year at the plate vs. repeat this performance at some point over the next two seasons
  15. uzr is awful
  16. it would have to be after the first WS game loss. whoever starts nlcs clincher game starts game 1 not that i'm superstitious, that would be silly i have to believe that fred would insist that this be the case
  17. can we name something here in honor of him? like the game thread subforum or something edit: brian beat me to this but the point is that it's an incredibly good idea
  18. holy horsefeathers remember how like half the baseball teams played in circle stadiums with green felt on concrete as a playing surface? i mean, horsefeathers publicly funded stadiums but also thank god for publicly funded stadiums
  19. those don't seem egregious to me. the 30 foot difference between the first two seems about right; the shorter being in the middle of the section and the other being up at least a few rows and towards center field. assuming a relatively constant distance between the concourse and the wall as it follows the perimeter of the outfield, the concourse at the power alley is 50 feet farther away from home plate that it is down the left field line. so 482 to the concourse down the line vs 504 to the power alley a few rows down from the concourse doesn't seem at all outrageous
  20. there was nothing to figure out; he is baseball
  21. spoilering this for it's off-topicness
  22. you see, we should think of the message board post with a getty image as being like floor 7 1/2 and then the internet is what's between that one door and john malkovich's eyeballs. what i'm saying is I don't think the law has caught up to the technology. i can say that comfortably because you explained it to me and now i'm an expert also, it would seem getty is gaming the system and running a copyright troll business on the side
  23. if you want to get technical, that's a derivative work and still infringing. Now Getty is going to come after you guns a blazin. No way, in the ACTUAL image, his jersey says Garciaparra. If Getty is reading this, I was ACTUALLY drawing a picture of imaginary future Cub Mark Nomar and everyone knows that nomar didn't get cat eye transplants until well after his time on the cubs
  24. that was the most obvious reason to me, but I'm curious if that actually matters or if whether or not a profit is realized is more important a factor hopefully now that cubinny has half of nsbb on retainer, someone can make room for pro-bono work to address my question do you really want an answer? yes please bill to: Mr. Cubin Ny 14 Robert E. Lee St. Heritage, AL (whatever the zip code for Alabama is) (clearly I'm just substituting my own definition of fair use and wondering why the world isn't conforming to it, but I am actually curious what disqualifies this from the legitimate legal framework (so that I can pretend I'm an expert on twitter))
