  1. The opening day 25-man roster payroll was $99,670,332. It should only be $96,420,332 but Rusch still counts $3.25mil against this year's payroll. Anyone with any idea how much net profit this team dragged in last year?
  2. The season is far from over, unfortunately. Are you proud or something? How can it not be over? Are you watching this team? This team is not capable of contending for the playoffs? You must be one delusional Cubs fan. I was speaking to the fact that there are many months of baseball left and there are a lot of games to be played. Your comments are pointless, please go back to Cubs.com.

  4. That's a legitimate fear, however, I would assume that talks on selling the team have already begun, and would likely be finalized before the period of free-agency has begun. There are quite a few groups chomping at the bit to get a hold of this organization, and I think we'll probably know who the new owner is by the end of the season. I hope.
  5. Ramirez has a dirty uniform because he's so lazy that he lies down between pitches. It's funny you say that. Someone on WGN was talking to Barry Rozner about the Bulls game on Wednesday morning, and right at the end of the conversation, Rozner took a blantant and unnecessary shot at ARam. He said he hadn't seen the Cubs game from the previous night and wanted to know if Ramirez was still standing there admiring his home run, or if he bothered to run around the bases. I bet if Rozner did anything worth noting he might take the time to admire it as well.
  6. We can wan't to win this year 'till we're blue in the face, but it's not going to happen. This organization is so screwed. It has no plan. Any other team is going to take stock in what they have in their organization, at every level, and what they can afford to go out and get, pretty much years in advance, and set a timetable for winning. The problem with these jerks is that they have no plan, every year it's the same 'we'll go out and get a few guys at spots we think were at issue and voila, we'll be a good baseball team. At the end of the day, it is a far wiser course of action to dump Jacque and give Pie the experience at the major league level that he requires to be successful IN THE FUTURE. The same goes with Matt Murton, who is quite obviously suffering from the Jeremy Giambi effect. I can't wait until this team is sold.
  7. He ain't gettin' any better, that's for sure. Lets hope he picks it up in July when all of our other starters fall apart completely so we have at least one day a week to look forward to.
  8. K'd the side vs. the Brewers. FTW, IIRC Actually Farnsworth got the win and Wellemeyer got the save. I guess... IDNRC
  9. They said that?!? Please. OPS+ Crede 108 Ramirez 126 And last year was Crede's best year. Idiots.
  10. The whole WWoS complex is great. I had a blast there the last time I was at Disneyworld in '01. It really is a pretty sweet complex. Go Sammy.
  11. That grand slam was pretty sweet. But we need to do better with the bases loaded, in general.
  12. Gotta love the popout on the first pitch... except when the Cubs do it...
  13. Niiiiiiiiiiice Pitch, Reyes K
  14. did the game go black and white during part of Theriot's AB for anyone else? Nice walk Cornelius
  15. 9 pm central? I would assume ET, as they are playing and broadcasting from NY.
  16. He's played the other two games.
  17. And what I'm saying is the "get him over" aspect is vastly overrated and doesn't compare in importance to getting them on. In what world is getting runners over, or in other words moving them around the basepaths, vastly overrated? Planet Earth. 'getting runners over' and 'moving them around the basepaths' are a product of hits and walks. You do those two things, and the former will happen because of it.
  18. That's the type of stuff I'd listen to. Here, the most popular thing I'll hear is segments on end debating the topic "IS KOBE DESTROYING THE LAKERS???" By and large, sports radio sucks. Some of it can be entertaining, but most of it is saying ridiculous things for the sake of ratings.
