  1. I guess I (or Dex) can't be too angry about that after the last homer he hit But damn that looked so crushed off the bat
  2. ARE YOU KIDDING ME man i thought that thing was crushed
  3. Arrieta is straight murdering fools out there. All the contact since the first inning has been little dribblers off the bat, some of them hit so poorly that it causes our fielders to make mistakes. Would be nice to have some runs but such is life
  4. Blergh. Yeah, Kazmir has been pitching well.
  5. Wow...Zobrist looking totally confused today. Very surprising
  6. Rizzo quite obviously makes the tag, call it and go to the dugout
  7. Jesus the fielders are failing Arrieta all over the place, come on guys
  8. There's really no sign of Fowler slowing down, the dude is just a monster
  9. Montero, you don't have to single-handedly gift them a run dude
  10. Well if you really want to you can listen to the ESPN cast, which has them saying brilliant insights like "Maybe Jason Heyward should bunt here"
  11. Bah Montero Still, Arrieta is looking fantastic, he's getting those weak dribblers, swings and misses, his control is all there
  12. Even if they don't score here its another 20+ pitch inning for the opposing starter
  13. Heyward at least got a good jump and looked slick there
  14. Oh wow, that shift with Kris Bryant playing basically second base
  15. Wow, this is one of the first times I've watched a game on ESPN with that superimposed strike zone box and I really dislike it, it totally warps how I think about the strike zone because it's a little off
  16. Maybe I'm getting cocky, but if we're going for the 4-game sweep it would be kind of awesome to get a chance to knock around Kershaw. Would probably be sticking the chests out pretty far if we 4-game swept the Nationals and Dodgers and had a 5-1 record against Pittsburgh and 4-2 against St. Louis and the biggest division lead in baseball. Would be a cherry on top to do it against Kershaw. Yeah to be honest, for one of the first times in a Cubs season ever, I'd be interested in seeing a team's best pitchers to see how our hitters would do. Almost every other year I'd be rooting for the Cubs to miss the Kershaws and Maeda's of the world, because screw sportsmanship and pride, the games in the standings matter much more and if the Cubs can play someone of a lower talent level, so much the better. This year though, the Cubs have virtually clinched in May, so I'm just interested in seeing what the Cubs hitters can do. Maybe they'll get shut down, certainly Kershaw has shut down basically every else, but a single loss is like, whatever. I'd say this much: I know the Cubs would record a walk against Kershaw, at least. Which is somehow much more of an accomplishment than scoring a run against him.
  17. Slim pickings in AL Catchers there, Sal Perez seems to be the default choice. Also he may or may not be dead, like how the Royals position players are dropping like flies
