if almora does anything other than ground out on the first pitch, i'm gonna sit here and not change my life at all but i'm pretty sure thats what he's gonna do

i got a crazy idea, but stick with me you can actually add to the lead here - i know, i know, its nuts. but just think about it

i gotta say my favorite thing in baseball is when my favorite team claws back from a deficit all game and then immediately the opponent effortlessly gains a bunch of baserunners and takes it back i love it. shove it down my horrible throat

I thought the whole point of this Kinzler guy was that he doesn't walk people
  7. BigSlick
oh Harper is absolutely gonna hit a home run isn't he

the fact of the matter is the Cubs seized the lead and should win this game, so, win it

In the 2 At-bats i've witnessed, Javy has shown remarkable restraint in a big situation

not that I recall hitting the ball hard is bad because you'll almost certainly hit it at someone better to hit dribblers nobody can field, imo

hilariously, on par, Hendricks pitched a much better game than Hellickson
  13. BigSlick
huh, well, not the best from Bote there
  14. BigSlick
YES! the legend of 2018 : Jason Heyward, above average hitter, continues!
  15. BigSlick
huh. well if we scored, or even, god forbid, took the lead, that would be cool
  16. BigSlick
thats a really cool at bat from Rizzo it probably doesn't mean anything, but good for him

The bears have been so bad and embarrassing for so long that I’ve successfully stopped caring about them or football in general The 2005-2012 stretch or so, where we were usually fairly competitive beguiled me in, and I’ll probably not go back (I say, but if they win 10 games I may be drawn back in who knows whatever)

There was a study that Bernstein cited that people who follow sports are less happy than people who don’t, even those who follow winning teams. Basically, the negative feelings from a loss, on average, outweigh the positive feelings from a win. It’s not true for everyone but true for sports fans on the whole. Anyway, I found that interesting.

remember when alcides escobar was a big time prospect? anyway, now he's one of the worst players in the league
  24. BigSlick
i appreciate the royals for basically giving up
  25. BigSlick
i was wondering if someone hit a home run or something but this is merely for a 4 pitch walk for Almora, which, to be fair, is basically a half miracle
