  1. I didn't want to start a new thread, so I'll ask it here. When is the trade deadline?
  2. In Marquis' 17 starts this year............. Team record by starting shortstop CUBS are 5-5 when Izturis starts at ss CUBS are 5-1 when Theriot starts at ss CUBS are 1-0 when Cedeno starts at ss Who got all of the rest of the starts at shortsop? That's only 17 games. Fontenot only started at ss twice (as far as I can remember) and I can't recall Derosa ever starting at ss. If you recall, reading the previous posts, the discussion is predicated on games that Marquis started, of which there are only 17. But since you asked.... Without regard to starting pitcher........ Team record by starting shortstop CUBS are 21-25 when Izturis starts at ss CUBS are 15-11 when Theriot starts at ss CUBS are 2-3 when Cedeno starts at ss CUBS are 2-1 when Fontenot starts at ss Aahh ok that makes more sense. Izzy stil has a bad record at ss.
  3. If Z leaves, they'd absolutely have to go for someone from the next tier to replace him. Buehrle fits that billing. Didn't Buehrle say that the cubs are the last team that he wants to play for? No idea, but money talks. Now I remember. It was 89navigator who said that Buehrle would never play for the cubs.
  4. Link? Do you need a link to know that Biggio hit his 3,000th hit in Houston? What? The strategy was to have Biggio play only one game in Milwaukee so that he'd hit his 3000th hit in Houston. It obviously worked, as he hit his 3000th hit in Houston. You lost me. Forget it.

  7. I hate night games when I have nothing to do during the day.

  11. It's just like Office Space. Make a mistake, and you'll have many people telling you about it.
  12. Petrick was sent down and Rocky Cherry was called up on Saturday. And then Petrick was called up and Cherry was put on the DL on Sunday.
  13. Murton is playing RF in the minors. How has he been doing? Team League AVG G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI TB BB SO SBCSOBPSLGOPS IOW PCL .305 16 59 15 18 7 0 1 7 28 8 7 1 0 .406 .475 .880 Nice! How about defensively? 46 errors.
  14. Why don't we just focus on the Cubs winning? If they do that everything else will take care of itself at this point. Worry about scoreboard watching this intensively if we are down a couple games come September. There's too much baseball left for this. You're probably right. I still like to scoreboard watch, though. It doesn't mean that you have to.
  15. Neifi was a demigod with a bat for almost a solid month. Yuck. Really? I don't remember that. I still stand by my opinion, however that Neifi was a decent 25th man. The problem was that he was used more that a 25th man should be used.
  16. The other dilemma is DeRosa/Fontenot... neither really have a lot of experience at SS, yet both should be in the everyday lineup. I would try making DeRo the everyday SS DeRosa actually has a decent amount of experience at SS-138 games there. While most of that came early in his career, he had 11 games there in 2004, 16 in 05, and 7 in 06. I figured that - I wonder why Lou doesn't try him there? On saturday Lou put him there in the 2nd inning after Fontenot made his 2nd error in 2 games. Then yesterday Derosa played RF. If Floyd plays today, Lou will probably put Derosa at SS (I hope).
  17. we don't? We have areas where we can improve, but none of our key positions are below average, imo. I guess it depends on how you define a hole.
  18. Floyd jumps as high as I do. you're back!!  How were you able to log back in?
  19. Don't vote Z. Make him PO'd.
