  1. If Dempster ever pitches against the Mets again it will be too soon. The last two appearances have been stellar.
  2. How can you tell? All he does is second guess and flip flop.
  3. Prior deserves every dig he gets. He does not. It's not like he's trying to be hurt so he can collect his paycheck without having to work for it. And it's certainly not his fault that Dusty abused him in 2003. Now Dusty is man who deserves every dig he gets. He may have robbed us of a dynasty. He and Hendry. I won't dispute that.
  4. Prior deserves every dig he gets.
  5. I don't mind Buck's actual call, but he has admitted he has a bias against the Cubs, and he should not be allowed to do national Cubs games on Fox.
  6. I certainly would not bash Hendry for the deal, as the cost to the Cubs was minimal. However, the deterioration of Kendall's ability is shocking.
  7. Saying that someone (Floyd) does not drop routine fly balls does not equal saying he "never made an error in his life." Murton seems like a nice person, but he makes Dave Kingman look graceful.
  8. I may have missed it, but I don't recall Floyd dropping routine fly balls. Murton is a horrible outfielder.
  9. Judging from Prior's past pain tolerance, it would be foolish to expect a quick recovery. He is certainly not one to push himself.
  10. Thank God the game ended before Pumpkin head got to bat again.
  11. That was a very nice outing today, but let's not get carried away. The Giants lineup without Bonds is pitiful.
  12. Hill's already earned the title of Big Z's personal catcher, so that should help him in the future either with the Cubs or whoever Zambrano ends up with.
  13. I was surprised by Kendall's game last night. My memories of him are from Pitt, as I saw him maybe a handful of times the past three years. It is unfortunate how he has changed (read "now stinks")
  14. I'm not really concerned about Gallagher, as he has not proven he is anything but a garbage time pitcher (at least at this point). This shuffling is really unfair to Petrick who has shown he can get out major league hitters.
  15. I would not necessarily be shopping Lee, but I would certainly consider a trade. Since the wrist injury, Lee has warning track power. The Cubs are now on the hook for $13 mil./yr for essentially Mark Grace (without the chain smoking and nightly chick trolling). That is an awful lot to pay for pop-gun power.
  16. This is the right move. I am a Murton fan, but he looks completely lost at the plate, not to mention his keystone cops routine in RF.
  17. If the restrictions on the Cubs taking on post-2007 salaries are true, than in effect an "after the season" sale freezes this crappy roster into 2008. Wonderful.
  18. This is just one of the many reasons Jimbo will be terminated immediately upon the sale of the club.
  19. This is a must win to avoid the sweep. Young's ERA at home is under 1, so you can forget Thursday's game.
  20. This is the right move. Lou has made his decision about his everyday outfielders, and Pie was going to be nothing more than a defensive substitution. He is too good (potentially) to rot on the bench in that role. Let Pagan do it.
  21. I would hope Hendry is focused on this year alone, because as soon as this team is sold he is going to be out the door so fast his head will be spinning.
  22. If you take a look at the Cubs schedule following this series, these 2 games remaining with the Bucs are must win.
  23. No way that Lee should be moved down in the order. However, I would be in favor of a move to number 2, until or if his power returns. I would bat the Riot leadoff and move Soriano to 3. With that order Alfonso would quite often have someone on base when he comes up, and would see fastballs, as pitchers would not want to get to ARam with multiple men on base.
  24. If by "=Yogi Berra" you mean "senile", then yes.
  25. How a Cub fan can still believe that "luck will even out" is beyond belief.
