  1. Is "Pink Hat Guy" behind home plate again?
  2. I think it would be difficult to justify ditching Hendry right now. The Cubs just won the most they have in April, and if they win the division for the second straight year, I don't know that Cuban will come in and just clean house. Now if the Cubs don't win the division, I think it's all fair game.
  3. The author of the "rumor" more or less already debunked it...
  4. It may take someone that doesn't know the history...doesn't know he's supposed to suck and be buffoonish, and crumble at clutch time, to turn this ship around.
  5. I'm not worried about him spending on payroll. He could spend the same amount we're spending now and I'd be fine. Here's what I want out of Cuban. 1) Not being content with putting a "crappy/mediocre/swept in the first round of the playoffs" team on field. 2) Put some young, fresh minds in the organization that think of things a little different than some of the "good baseball guys" do. You don't need to have every member of the front office be a SABR whiz, but a few wouldn't hurt. Balance stats and scouting.
  6. I think Reed dented the sign behind home plate with that foul.
  7. While it'd certainly be nice if Ward was doing better, offense really hasn't been our major issue this season.
  8. CNNSI has one too...Bears taking Dymetrius Byrd, WR, LSU. It's an exercise in ridiculousness.
  9. Wow...from the Trib:
  10. Were you already on the DL for a hernia?
  11. I emailed the guy that wrote the Union Trib article, and he replied. My email first...his follows:
  12. Wait, weren't we getting shut out by Sheets?
  13. Now I won't criticize anyone for being negative about Marquis and our chances because of him.
  14. That was mostly after both 2 pitch outs leading off the inning He still threw more balls than strikes in the inning. That's not good.
  15. Len said that Sheets is NOT on a pitch count Well of course Yost will say that. He doesn't want the Cubs to be counting on it. But on a cold night like this, he's on a pitch count.
  16. Wouldn't it be easier to require someone man the catcher position?
  17. Sheets on a pitch count. Brewers bullpen is horrible. And Sheets is already over 20 pitches, with the majority of them outside the strike zone. I'm not sure why all the negativity.
  18. Strikeout Double Strikeout, Braun safe at 1st on Dropped third strike, Cameron to 3rd Sac Fly Infield Single Groundout to short 1-0 brewers, mid 1st Thanks. Gameday was very confused by the dropped 3rd.
  19. I'm in a class. More detail please.
  20. If you are among those that believe that Pie is in the doghouse though, then there's nothing to lose here. Pie wouldn't be getting the shot with the Cubs, so you might as well do what you can and get Greene out of it. What's the CF free agent class look like for next year?
  21. That's actually mentioned in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=48069 While that's not specifically a Brian Roberts thread, I'm going to lock this one for fear of what it will become.
  22. Brittle brittle man. He "banged" his ankle and is going to have an MRI on it. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/baseball/mlb/04/29/alou.ankle/index.html
