  1. Pretty much. He had Olsen open the second to last play and overthrew him. The game should have been over with a Bears win. That's just not true. Olsen was being mugged...if he didn't over throw it, it would've been an interception, and you'd have been trolling the forum again for that.
  2. That was just a terrible throw. Threw on the run, and it was way off target.
  3. Hard to say that with Kyle's last outing, isn't it? Whatever do you mean, Orton doesn't make mistakes, he's a game manager, he just knows how to win. Despite any evidence to the contrary. Man you guys are bad. He has a bad game and you guys are foaming at the mouth. Get over it. Orton is as bad as people thought and Cutler isn't as good. That's not to say Cutler and Orton are equally good but stop trashing Orton every chance you get and stop talking up Cutler when he is obviously struggling mightily. Except I never said Orton was bad. I simply said that his last game calls into question the statement that Wilson made, which is that Orton would win 2 of the games Cutler lost. That's simply not a for sure thing.
  4. No. Just not the case. Cutler is playing poorly today, for sure, as well as against GB, but generally the problem is the line. Cutler won two games Kyle wouldn't have, but lost two Kyle wouldn't have. Hard to say that with Kyle's last outing, isn't it?
  5. Your spelling of the word "outrageous" is more outrageous...:)
  6. ESPN's NFC North blogger, Kevin Seifert makes an interesting point... http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcnorth/post/_/id/5893/tracing-the-bears-defensive-decline
  7. Without the draft picks, I expect them to be pretty active in free agency.
  8. Tackle totals don't mean much to me. If you tackle a guy 6 yards down the field, you aren't accomplishing much. Briggs is paid to be a playmaker. Fair enough, but if they're running away from Briggs because they know that Urlacher and Tinoisamoa aren't there, Briggs can't reasonably make plays on the other side of the field with regularity. I haven't broken down film, so maybe Briggs is slacking off...I can't say with certainty. But I can't imagine that some of the weak supporting cast isn't hurting his ability to play like he can play. I'm not saying he's slacking off. I doubt that's the case, but he wanted to be the man somewhere, come out from Urlacher's shadow and all that. And now that Urlacher is down, he hasn't shown himself to be much of a playmaker or a force on defense. He's still the best linebacker on the team, but he's nobody the opposition should fear ruining their game plan. Yeah...that's true.

  10. We say that, and then I just read this on Brad Biggs' blog....
  11. Funny thing is though, Briggs didn't disappear right away. He was playing really well early when we were winning games like the Pittsburgh game. But yeah, I agree that as the overall team performance has fallen off, Briggs has disappeared.
  12. Apparently he left a note.
  13. He tweeted later: Saying the Bears aren't "anything spectacular" and that you only like one player from the D-line is pretty much taking a shot at the Bears there guy. You may well be right, but don't try to back off it.
  14. NBC decided not to flex out of Eagles-Bears in week 11, so that game will still be on Sunday night as was originally tentatively scheduled.
  15. Why would the Cubs trade for Luis Castillo? My impression was the plan is to move Theriot to 2b.
  16. Whoa....Garrett Wolfe has a lacerated kidney. He's out 2-4 weeks. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/11/09/bears-running-back-wolfe-has-lacerated-kidney/
  17. Larry Johnson cut by Chiefs.
  18. Yeah, I could see it going either way. If forced to pick, I'd probably take the Cardinals, because like you said...I'm just kind of down on the Bears right now. I really think Turner is gonna be the fall guy this year.
  19. What's the beef against Boise? Just rooting for the underdog and don't think Boise deserves to be ranked in the top 10. They had one good win against Oregon to start the season and haven't played a good team since. It's a tough spot for Boise though. What do they have to do to be highly ranked if they go by your criteria? What good team would want to play Boise State? Major conference teams don't gain anything from it...and they stand to potentially lose a lot. They really need to get out of that conference. I don't blame them for non-conference scheduling. We all know the situation there. I just don't like the idea of someone playing 1 legit team at home and then 2 mediocre teams to go along with 9 patsies and being given a top 5 spot. I get that...but what I'm saying is that Boise has done everything it can possibly do at this point. They can only play the teams on their schedule...the teams in their conference (crap, other than Fresno St occasionally, and maybe Hawaii occasionally), and the non-conference teams that are dumb enough to play them. By the way, Boise State was ranked #9 in the country for this game: They didn't play a ranked team all year that year...but went undefeated.

  22. I get that, but my complaint was with the media types who are absolutely apoplectic if the topic of Lovie's job security comes up. They just keep repeating winningest NFC coach since 2005 besides Coughlin. It makes no sense. He's been here 5.5 years, they have 2 playoff appearances, are 2-2 (including 2 embarrassing defeats) and haven't been there since 2006. The topic is worth discussion. Will the Bears pull the trigger? My guess is only if they completely fall apart and somehow lose 10 games. But 7-9, 8-8 should at least make them consider it. But should a media member scoff at the notion that it should be discussed? Absolutely not. No argument there.
