  1. awful If by awful, you mean genius....
  2. CSN also gave the 2 million estimate. Good God!
  3. Great news for Boise State. It was something they had to do if they wanted to grow as a program. The WAC can't be happy though.
  4. You're a bad fan. No celebrating for you. dexter and Kyle have judged and found you unworthy!!
  5. After being used to the "robotic"-ness of MLB Gameday and the like....watchin the Soccer PBP feed is funny, cuz it's clearly manually typed in... http://www.fifa.com/live/competitions/worldcup/matchday=1/day=1/match=300061454/index.html
  6. Ok...I need to avoid this thread now. I'm not getting home till 11 and I'm recording it...
  7. thats why im getting a bolland or seabrook jersey I'm getting really crabby about this. This city's sports fans weren't just disinterested, they were openly hostile to hockey for years. They should get off my lawn! and they'll be the first fans to boo antti niemi the first time he has a bad game next season. or wonder why toews isn't scoring 120 points. or why byfluglien isn't on a 40 goal pace. Cubs fans jump on new players when they don't immediately perform. Hell, everybody was bailing on the Cutler bandwagon after the first game last year. It's about a large, passionate sports market. Not bandwagoning.
  8. I don't understand this thought process. The idea that you've "earned" it more because you've watched more. I'm a huge Chicago sports fan, but for (I think) pretty reasonable reasons, I haven't had a lot of Blackhawks interest previously. I've had a casual passing interest...enough to care whether they won or lost, but not enough to watch the games on a regular basis. But (like many in town I suspect, based on TV ratings for Chicago), I followed the playoffs religiously. Why would you begrudge those people?
  9. You're just grouchy cuz you didn't see it till after you'd posted in the other thread...:P
  10. I want them all to avert their eyes and send tributes to me, the One True Fan. I believe then, that any time you talk about hockey, you have to refer to yourself as a "die hard Blackhawks fan for the last X years" and then talk about some old timey hockey moment that you were witness to.

They should get off my lawn! I see. So now, you don't want interest. You'd rather hockey be unwatched and unloved the city again?
  12. I'll go with a t-shirt for now. I'll wait on the jersey till I see who survives the offseason. After the SJ series, I was debating between Toews and Niemi. Now...I don't know. Don't think it'll be Kane though.
  13. definitely burish but it would be funny if it was niemi or somebody like that who did it Well and there were tons of people in that locker room that normally wouldn't be...family members and such. And probably at least one gay person. Maybe they just knew something we don't!

  15. Through the entire playoffs, I've read more of the opposing teams message boards and newspapers than I have any other sites other than this one. I don't post or troll them, but I find reading their depression, (or defiant optimism) after their teams lose to be more fun to read than people freaking out over the Blackhawks when they lose a game or two, or don't play their best game every time out. And it's not just Blackhawks. I do that with every team I follow. Mostly during the playoffs. But also with the Bears during the regular season. Somehow it's healthier for my psyche. I always read opposition newspapers online. I don't get the notion that somebody might be wasting 5 seconds of their life to look at that stuff. After the first hour or so of listening, watching and reading about this win, we're all just seeing the same stuff repeated. But message boards? Ours are bad enough, I don't need to read what some other idiots think of stuff. I mostly just look at "game threads". I think it's interesting to see the oppositions fan reactions to different events in the game...like penalties...(most of the time they disagree, but sometimes they berate their player for being dumb)...or huge hits like the one on Pronger....or weird moments like that final goal.
  16. Today's shirt.woot.... http://sale.images.woot.com/_Buzz_Aldrin__Always_Sounded_Like_a_Sports_Namep0lDetail.png The shirt "title" is "Buzz Aldrin always sounded like a sports name".
  17. Man, next people will be putting swimming pools in the right field stands. Seriously though, I think it's a cool idea.
  18. The term "fire sale" is WAY overused in baseball.
  19. I'm like 3 pages late and a Bruce debunking too late on this thread but.... If this was true, don't you think Paul Sullivan would be all-freaking-over this? Or Barry Rozner? Sulley freaking loves drama like this, and Rozner has long disliked Ramirez's laziness. Both those guys would be on this big time...

  21. A buddy of mine got some NFL jerseys from one of those sites a few months back. When he gets into work this morning, I'll ask him for more detail.
