  1. Laviolette is kind of a tool, isn't he? http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/06/leighton-back-in-goal-for-flyers.html
  2. The Flyers official twitter feed says that Leighton is starting game 6.
  3. Stanley Cup gear....don't worry...it's not jinxed...Flyers gear is up too... http://www.shop.com/chicago+blackhawks+stanley+cup
  4. London Fletcher is a good sport.... http://blog.redskins.com/2010/06/07/essay-contest-winner-teaches-london-fletcher-the-thriller-dance/
  5. Bwahaha! I might have to go get a Tribune today... http://www.chicagotribune.com/media/photo/2010-06/54183319.jpg
  6. Not sure I buy the whole story here, but a fun read.... http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puck_daddy/post/Amazing-tales-of-the-Philadelphia-fan-with-the-i?urn=nhl,246356 Sounds like a story that the Janitor from Scrubs would tell.
  7. Ok, so the Cubs are apparently going to try to change Randy Wells' game prep routine to help with his first inning woes...this is one of the things they have planned.... Um...doesn't that seem like a bad idea to TELL people? http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/ct-spt-0608-cubs-brite--20100607,0,1309480.story
  8. I seriously doubt Izzo will leave MSU.
  9. By "well-rested" does he mean because he's been in the box a bunch for retaliating against Pronger, or does he mean that Buff hasn't been giving 100% in this series? Pronger is implying that Buff hasn't shown up for the series.
  10. Can't get enough Bill McCreary in your life? http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=531097&cmpid=rss-Feature%20Stories
  11. Some co-workers (that are clearly not big NBA fans) are over here talking about trying to lure Lebron, and were talking about the supporting cast that the Bulls have...."like Jalen Rose" I am amused.
  12. Tim mentioned that "casualty" in the thread in Site Suggestions. Er...he mentioned it somewhere...apparently not that thread though.
  13. I knew that no matter what restaurant I chose for my example, I'd get a comment like that of some sort...:P
  14. What game was he watching? That's a pretty dumb comment. Not having a killer instinct would be letting the Flyers close to 1 goal, or even tie the game. The Hawks matched every single time the Flyers tried to pull closer. The Flyers didn't quit, but neither did the Hawks. Who is Puck Daddy anyway? Stupid name. That quote is from the Flyers blog... http://www.broadstreethockey.com , and yeah...it's a pretty homerish perspective. Puck Daddy is a yahoo NHL blog.
  15. According to Puck Daddy: And holy lord Buff.... http://a323.yahoofs.com/ymg/ept_sports_nhl_experts__65/ept_sports_nhl_experts-297903128-1275916330.jpg?ymrQoQDD5ATzKxjt
  16. For those that didn't get to see this during the game... http://a323.yahoofs.com/ymg/ept_sports_nhl_experts__65/ept_sports_nhl_experts-57584256-1275889168.jpg?ymQohQDD4_yId_rz
  17. Why. its more interesting than the [expletive] team the Cubs put on the field on a daily basis Tim doesn't run 312sports just for his health. You don't talk Celtics on a Cubs board, and you don't order lasagna from the kiddie menu at a BBQ joint. Ha! Have you been in the NBA playoffs thread? There's a lot of Celtics talk in there...(or at the very least, Rondo...) In any case, your analogy is flawed. The Cubs are a Chicago sports team, as are the Bulls, Blackhawks, and Bears. I'm sure most baseball message boards have "other sports" forums, and have popular threads dedicated to that city's other teams. Talking Bears/Hawks/Bulls on a Cubs board is more like ordering pasta from Pizza Hut.
  18. The Hawks played great, but most of all they didn't beat themselves. I didn't post here after Fridays game, but I really thought the Hawks shot themselves in the foot with some terrible decision making and awful passing. Tonight they played smart, crisp, and were just flying to the puck. I forget who said it, and I'm too lazy to try to look it up, but someone suggested early in the series that the Hawks should break up the top line...and I was kind of harsh in how I dismissed that idea. I fully admit I was wrong. Getting Kane, Toews and Buff seperated was a great move, and I think it really messed up what was working for the Flyers defensively. Pronger can't be on the ice against all 3 of them if they're on different lines...and Hossa has played really strong in this series, so getting him on that first line was a good move. I hope that the Flyers waste a lot of time and energy in the next couple of off days trying to figure out ways to minimize Buff's impact. The more time they spend thinking about him, the more the rest of the guys can get space.
  19. Forget MJ! Carlos Bernard was in attendance! http://home.comcast.net/~ivychat/tony-mug.jpg
  20. Suggestion. I know it's a baseball board and all, but can it wait till the NBA and NHL finals finish?
  21. Holy crap that video is great. The guy in the Cubs shirt has a Joakim Noah look to him.
  22. I was waiting for this argument. And I admit...I haven't been in this thread for most of the season...fine. But I'd be defending the Bears or Cubs (ok...maybe not the Cubs as vigorously) from this as well. I understand it's the nature of a sports message board for there to be an excess of negativity. I get that. And it doesn't really matter all that much to me, because I'm not really down on the Hawks at all right now. In fact I'm pretty damn confident. I just hate to see you guys...guys that have followed the Hawks all season (and more!) so down about a team that is up 2-1 in the freaking Stanley Cup Finals. Enjoy this...as good as this team should be in the future, it may not be something we get to see again soon. And I feel like you guys aren't really enjoying it, as much as you're waiting for the other shoe to drop.
  23. Stop using the Cubs for comparison. Your problem isn't that you're a pessimistic fan. It's that you're psychologically scarred by the Cubs. The Cubs are their own beast. They make losing painfully an art. Think of it this way. NO team will ever hurt you the way the Cubs do. Ever.
  24. That dude has been the most consistent player on the ice in the final for the Hawks, with the possible exception of Niemi.
