  1. I'm still wondering why everyone is allergic to KU in this. Cause KU brings nothing to the table. I'd rather have Missouri yay No offense to SSR, but I highly doubt his opinion is weighed significantly in this process. :P
  2. Fancy. Only missing the TV info.
  3. they have a good women's basketball team Ok Cubbiebum.
  4. No shocker here, but Izzo won't go to the Cavs unless Lebron commits to them... http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/06/heathcote-izzo-needs-lebron-to-commit-to-cavs.html
  5. My wife made that her cell phone ringer during either the Canucks or Sharks series, I forget which. And I have it on my mp3 player for occasional hockey excitement throughout the day.
  6. Yeah...and I wasn't really arguing about the validity of the advantage...I just didn't know about the rule.
  7. Thanks! I realized it was a physical rather than emotional thing...but I didn't know about that rule. That makes sense though...I always kinda wondered why one guy got to kinda float in there, but I didn't make the connection.
  8. I know others have picked at this lineup already, but why is Soto hitting behind Tracy? Tracy is WSR's newest crush due to his minor league numbers. It'll end messily, as these things always do. Prepare for his cries of "DFA TRACY!" by the end of the month. Ah...yeah that's where the problem is. I was basing it on Tracy being average or below average every season he's played with a single exception in 2005. And not being very close to average since 2007. So yeah, my bad.

  10. Someone explain this to me. ProHockeyTalk.com has an article trying to decipher why home teams have won all 5 games so far. And they include this bit: Why would the home team have a momentum advantage?
  11. http://euroflyers.blogspot.com/2010/06/pre-game-6-with-timonen-leino.html That's....an odd thing to say. Perhaps he's messing with the Hawks heads and trying to get them overconfident? I feel like this Flyers team there's always an agenda to what they say. To be fair, it's part of a longer quote that's a bit more upbeat. But taken by itself...yeah, its odd.

  13. Things that happened in 1996: -The Bulls win 72 games and their 4th NBA title in 6 years -The Yankees win their first World Series title since the early 1980's -The Cowboys win their last Super Bowl to date, beating the Steelers -Bill Clinton defeatd Bob Dole and is reelected President of the United States -The Summer Olympics are held in Atlanta, GA -Princess Diana and Prince Charles are divorced -The OJ Simpson Trial begins -On October 27th at around 4:31 PM CST, a young umfan begins puberty Oh and also the Blackhawks won a game at what is then called the CoreStates Center, their last win in Philadelphia until TONIGHT ? The trial did start in 2006, ended in Feb 2007. Care to rephrase?
  14. It's not a great format, but the tv schedule is here... http://www.nypost.com/p/blogs/soccerblog/world_cup_tv_schedule_dYWHbgHv8zCR6GFLumD1cP
  15. You guys are embarrassed over a photoshopped picture? There's TONS of those all over the internet...the only difference here is that this was put out in print media, which from what I've been told, is pretty much dead anyway. They're just trying to get readers guys...
  16. How many hitting coaches have there been under Piniella? 3 or 4 right?
  17. You understand they just wanted to generate some controversy and sell some newspapers, right?
  18. It was throwing an insane number of them that led to surgery. We can agree it is a nasty pitch that can lead to trouble, so would you advise him to take it out of his repertoire? lol...you just decided to read whatever you wanted there. It wasn't the pitch. It was the number of pitches.
  19. It was throwing an insane number of them that led to surgery.
  20. I'd feel like I wish the Cubs had the players that the Orioles did (in this imaginary scenario...certainly not now).
  21. So 5 starts for Strasberg before he pitches the best game in MLB history?
  22. I hear ya...but to me, there should've been a Hawk close enough to swat away a short rebound anyway...or at least fight for it. I mean, by the time you yell to Niemi, and he locates the puck, it probably is too late anyway. Either Niemi had to know he missed it, or another Hawk has to be there. I think it was just a lack of experience thing...I think with his success so far, we keep forgetting that Niemi is awfully inexperienced.
  23. I know it looked bad, but I don't think it was him not being sure where the puck was. I think he was "sure" it was under him. Instead, it kind of trickled down the outside of his leg. Still a bad mistake on his part, but I didn't think it was quite how you portrayed it.
