  1. He was involved in the Starcaps case, and now is in the UFL. Apparently we haven't yet signed him, we're working on it. So that means we released Anderson without a definite move in place. Something is fishy.
  2. Lets pretend for a sec here Raw, that the Bears have made their mind up that they're taking OL in the first round. Who you got?
  3. Nate Solder and Demarcus Love are two other names I'm seeing suggested for the Bears in the 1st.
  4. They are all tackles though. And while I understand the entire line is weak.....Williams, Omiyale, and Webb are all still young. FWIW, I don't like Carimi AT ALL. Castonzo is not going to be a stud OL (which I would like in the 1st). Reynolds is interesting. What about Carimi don't you like? Most boards are rating him their top OT. And as valiantly as Omiyale might be trying...the guy is bad. They might be young, but they aren't talented. As far as I'm concerned, we need at a minimum, two starting quality OL out of this draft.
  5. OT in the first. OG in the second.
  6. One of Gabe Carimi, Anthony Castonzo or Matt Reynolds could possibly be there for the Bears in the 1st.
  7. Dolphins fire the ST coach after last nights mess. The assistant ST coach takes over, and that dude has no prior NFL experience before last year. That should go well.
  8. If it's Angelo. I still think 7-9 or better and they all return. It shouldn't be that hard to win 4-5 more games. Yeah. Unless there's a magic labor turnaround, the Bears are going to be looking for excuses to keep, rather than fire ppl.
  9. I'd say there's a lot of very good QB's that owe their "very goodness" to being in a very good situation. In any case, I don't think it's worth splitting the hairs here. Lets just reword it. Kyle Orton has exceeded the expectations that many had for him when he went to Denver. Cutler, whether he's a "better QB" than Orton or not, has not met the expectations that many had for him when he came to Chicago. The two had vastly different expectations, no doubt. But it's where the perception is coming from that Orton is better than Cutler.
  10. http://www.chacha.com/question/did-ryan-sanburg-play-shortstop-or-third-base http://www.chacha.com/question/who-did-ryan-sanburg-manage-last-year-in-2008-and-what-were-they-aa%2C-aaa%2C-a-etc
  11. How so? There's no undefeated teams in the conference. At worst after Sunday we're one game back in the division and one game back in the conference. Is it a game we should win? yep. Is it a game that will really hurt if we lose? yep. Is it a game we'll look back on if we don't make the playoffs? Maybe. But it's not like the playoff possibilites are suddenly that much more daunting with a loss. It's an absolute should-win.
  12. Orton is a very good QB. I think saying he's "not that good" is disingenous. He's not the same style of QB as Cutler. Comparing them is fruitless. Cutler may throw longer, but he throws a lot more picks too. Which QB would personally I rather have? Cutler. But that's more about what I think works better in the Mike Martz offense. Orton has been a very good QB for the style of offense that is run in Denver.
  13. He's thrown the same number of TD's as Cutler, and is tied for 8th in the league.
  14. If you're interested at all in just how bad the Bears pass protection is, Dan Pompei breaks it down... http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/chi-bears-pompei-film-oct5,0,3440494.column
  15. Look, I get that people still don't like Orton. A good buddy of mine doesn't, and he's a pretty football smart guy. You guys are in denial...Orton is a very good QB at this point. He may have had his 400+ game where he didn't get over 100 passing rating, but the game before that, he had 300+ and had a passing rating of 117! His QB rating is just below 100 on the season...forget a single game. He's 4th in YDS/A, so he's throwing the ball downfield. Taking YAC completely out of the picture, 43 of his 175 attempts have traveled further than 10 yards. It's actually the 11-20yd catches where he gets the most big plays. For comparison, Cutler has thrown 34 of 102 attempts further than 10 yards. So yes, Cutler is throwing about 33% of his passes further than 10 yards, while Orton is around 24%. But I don't think that's enough to justify your post. He's a very good NFL QB. Time will tell how well it holds up, but I think it's pretty silly at this point to try and argue that he's not good.
  16. I think this game will say a lot about how the rest of the season will go. Are we able to beat the teams we should beat? I know we beat Dallas and Green Bay, but now we've gotten our teeth kicked in this past week...how well do we recover?
  17. He was active, but didn't get on the field. Desmond Clark was inactive.
  18. It was a sucky season...must it be compared to others?
  19. Yeah but I don't think he really wants to go anywhere but NE. The last thing about him is that he was content in waiting this out and trying to play the last 6 weeks of the season for whatever reason. I would think we would have heard his name already at this point if he was a possibility. And he's not a FA or anything right? We'd have to trade for him...and I'm not so keen on giving up high level draft picks at this point.
  20. Yep...it was in David Haugh's column this morning. He's the only one that apparently noticed though.
